I may have made a crazy decision but I'm probably going to start competing in a Plus 8 Morgan before I'm too old. (even too old for a Morgan!) If i did, I'd have to pass on my SPS and wondered what a fair price might be. Its a 2001 Ohlins fork model, UK bike, 11500 miles, loads of history, including original PDI sheet and its genuinely mint. (Apart from a little paint issue on part of the rear wheel). I'd like to sell quickly if I decide to invest in the other hobby, so what's a realistic achievable price please?
Not sure - asking prices have risen rapidly, not sure what is achieved though. A year ago I was seeing them at £8 to £10k.
£8-10k would see a quick sale IMHO if its nice and original. No rush and you may get a bit more. A few out the for sale around 13k but they don't seem to disappear that quickly and often for sale through one of the prestige bike sales companies (i.e. 2k premium to sell )
Ducati Coventry / JHP Racing added 8 new photos. 50 mins · Just arrived, this much sought after of Ducati motorcyles, the Ducati 996 SPS (Sport Production Special). Number 1415, with only 8695 miles comes with extensive service history. This 2000 year model being highly desirable as it came factory fitted with Ohlins suspension front and rear and had the uprated engine over the 996 for improved horsepower. In excellent condition, this rare gem has just had a extensive service by Ducati Coventry including the cambelt change. A true collectors piece. Nationwide delivery available. £14,995.00
We did say premium retailer Give some are trying to sell a 998R for 25k, and a 999r for 15 plus, its probably 12 along with anyone selling a 999R or 998/6R at the mo given eBay prices IMHO No surprise most seem to re readvertised for months..
Yeah, JHP, premium dealer who has to have his mark up and can provide finance facilities. Hardly indicative of the true value. Nice low mile bike though.
