So having done my 'man maths' I worked out that by trading my 899 in to Moto Rapido and buying a 1199R was a financially sound investment. So yes, although the deal was only done today and I won't be picking it up until the 4th of Feb, I'm going to be the proud owner of this... I was on the brink of buying a 1299S, but there's just something about the 1199R that I couldn't resist. I know the 1299S is arguably the better all-round road bike, but I just want the R - albeit the early, not-so-good version. To say I'm excited is a slight understatement. Roll on the 4th...
Not tempted by the 1098R nestling not too far from the 1199R in the showroom then ? 4th Feb is going to seem like an age but I'm sure the bike will be worth the wait. A piece of advice if I may, get the suspension set up to your weight. IMO, out of the box is way too firm giving an uncompromising ride. Enjoy. Andy
A good buy in my opinion, these are slowly starting to climb in price. You will throughly enjoy riding it. But as @Android853sp has said, if the budget allows get a manually adjusted Ohlins shock to set up the suspension to your weight. A much better ride after I can guarantee. Good luck and enjoy.
So the bike doesn't throw up an errors if you disconnect the electronic suspension then? It's only because I have a 1199 Nitron shock sat at home doing nothing... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Forgot that the bike has electronic suspension but there should still be a variable or 2 you can play with. My Multistrada electronic suspension is very good but my 1098R "basic" suspension gives me better adjustability. Andy
Don't start bringing it to the track with us, as my wallet won't like the natural conclusion of me wanting one too !
