  1. Dreamers paradise. Both sellers and buyers looking at some of the prices ;)

  2. This looks well odd - but first look at Coys notes for accuracy:

After the huge success of the Massimo Tamburini designed 916/996/998 series, a new desmodromic Ducati v-twin was introduced in 2003

A 999 for £22,000 with a few second hand 'nice' parts stuck on it. They don't even say it's an R - and looking at the frame it's more likely a base model that's been cut up a bit at the foot peg mounts... 16.5" wheels too :Wacky:

  3. Yes, I looked at that, it doesn't say its an R, at best its an S with a bit of bling

  4. You can tell it's not a R frame. The exh hanger mount above the rh rearset is welded on. On a R frame, these can be unbolted.(At least they can on a 749R)

  5. Yes, same on a 999R, wonder if someone is going to buy it :Nailbiting:

  6. You can also check by seeing if the frame front cross brace can be unbolted. They are welded in on non R frames.

  7. Yip, just checked, same on the 999R too :upyeah:

  8. Estimated £50k-£60 for a 996RS ridden by Troy Corser in 1999 ? Ouch ! I wonder if it has been ridden since ? Andy

  9. Isn't that the one a poster saw for sale and enquired about recently, lots of chat about it, all suggested A) its unlikely to have been used by him in that guides B) it has had the good stuff stripped C) its worth less than half that.

Don't know if to was Henk but one of the Dutch boys kew who had it before and seemed very genned up on it, If its the same bike :)

  10. Yes, I think it was mentioned that it was coming up at Coys

  11. That was the bike I went to see Sunday last week and is known to the forum. IMO £6800 wasn't bad money because it was not original, very nice and loved but converted to single projector head light, aftermarket nose cone, tiny tear drop after market carbon wing mirrors, plus some minor stuff without any of the major original bits. I think Pip was only selling it as he has a new money sink 2-stroke project ;). Whoever bought it got a good deal on a riding bike rather than a collecting bike. Andy
