Thanks for that - we live convenient to Pontefract/South Kirkby, so I can see us visiting them next week with a copy of the Wren plan
This is ours. Still not a completed room as we still have the builders in. Cupboard doors sit in a frame rather than slapped on the surface. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There's more to it than in shot but you're right. Worktop was £5k, the larder was a couple of £k too. Sink and taps were about £1k. Oven was £2k. They charge about £2.5k for fitting. It all adds up but next time I won't let her do it. We'll get someone in to knock something up from scratch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Had ours done 2 years ago at 9k Was all supplied and fitted by a mates parents business and got a good bit of discount, At the time we had a nice big rayburn which we kept, Just short ago we ripped the rayburn out and got oil heating fitted at another £7700 and now left with a gapping hole when the rayburn was that's going have to have more money throwing at it, Hate spending a load of hard earned on these but needs must. Fancy another bike but be a while I think, 888, 998 or an old Norton commando cant decide
Chap at work got a quote from Wren just last week, said was good quality but pricey. We are looking at doing ours in the next couple of years, heard Howdens was good, have also had DIY kitchens recommended. LAst one came from B&Q, one down from their most expensive and absolute rubbish, had laminated doors and when ,after two years the laminate started Popping off we were told they only warrant.y them for 12 months. Am also going to look at handmade.
Magnet did our last one, 10k for a decent size with all appliances fitted, and looked new still after 3 years . That was at least 5 years ago. Having started liking again, have to say process haven't increased. JH - equally no offence but are you sure your wife hasn't got herself a nice little collection of Jimmy Choos and Versace bags with the money she hived off from telling you she spent 28k LOL
I know. No offence taken. Feeling quite done over by Harvey Jones. Nice kitchen but it's a huge amount of money. Time will tell how it holds up although the sales guy was happy to hang off the doors to show it off. We looked at a couple of other companies too and they all came in about the same cost (we were looking higher end places though). We decided the kitchen would be our splurge. We've got our island and our big range though so happy with the functionality of it. She's got her larder and wine cooler. Just need our builder to crack on with the rest of the extension now. Ron As mentioned in another post Howdens and expected to pay around 5k on average (no granite tops) all i hear about Wrens is not good and in my job I've seen a few and spoken to many of my customers, I find a lot of people pay big bucks for a kitchen but over time you will get used to it and bored with the colour/style so don't spend to much, If you want to see a mega bucks kitchen, google Smallbone kitchens from Dorset i think, the job I'm working at now cost 75k for the units and granite only they are handmade and painted, hope i don't get any paint splash's on them when i paint the ceilings :Nailbiting:
