  1. I'm looking to sell my 749r due to lack of use and before I put it back to standard and put it on ebay I thought I would see if anyone on here was looking for one as you will know what I'm selling

I bought the bike from Motorapido in 2010 - Wilf had rebuilt the corse kitted engine over winter as a training project - the kit is about £4-5k - I then sent it to Biggelaar Special Performance in Holland to have it gasflowed, blueprinted and have the fuelling/suspension set up as Motorapido didn't have the right dyno- Toine was very complimentary about the rebuild! - but it took ages to get the fuelling right! I then had brembo rcs brake and clutch master cylinders fitted and a 48t stm slipper clutch/jhp cover And some rearsets. I then had all the carbon bodywork taken off (which was in really good condition) as well as the bigger tank and had some second hand red trackday bodywork fitted, screen and a 999 tank fitted. I then used the bike on the road and for occasional trackdays as I wanted something you could ride to & from the track. Also used it as overseas trackdays in Almeria, Portimao and Valencia in 2014 - the bike has never been crashed while I have owned it - it had a full refresh at Biggelaar in early 2014 and I haven't used it much since then, although I turn it over regularly and it is dry stored. I also have a spare std 749r engine which I bought in Dec 2011 with 3.3k on it from a guy who was braking a 749r - I have never used it as the corse engine has been faultless. I have receipts that prove all of the above - the two refreshes etc in 2010 and 2014 were circa £1500 each - this is a really well sorted bike

so what you have is a 749r set up for the road and occasional trackdays (13.5k miles) with all the original carbon parts in good condition stored away plus a spare std engine - so a great package for anyone who fancies having a great road bike that they can take to the track too - btw I am slow intermediate std and 52 now so the bike hasnt been thrashed!!

i can supply more detailed photos to anyone who is seriously interested but I have included two one in standard trim and one in trackday trim

    Cheers

    Chris

  2. Nice!

I have the "Supersport" Kit on my 749R (Heads/pipe/ecu etc) - is that the same as the "Corse" kit you have?
I LOVE the response of my engine - it's like a 2 stroke almost in the way it takes off like a banshee at 7000rpm!

What's yours kicking out at the back wheel?

    GLWS!

  3. 142.3 at 10k rpm

Yes that's the same kit - for people who wanted to enter British Supersport or club racing - not sure it took off as the bike was around £20k set up in 2004.....and an R6 was about £7k.....why would you unless you had rich sponsors like jhp

That said it is sooo nice to ride on the road and track you can really wind it up rather than riding the torque like a bigger bike - (I had a 998 Chili rep which was a pure track only bike as well see attached photo)it's a great bike - love it - just don't use it anymore - hardly ridden it since I went to valencia in 2014

Got in to mountain biking - more fun but a lot more dangerous!!!

  20. Well done.
It's tragic that here's more money in breaking than building.
