  2. Just 1 for me...........& I really hope it stays that way!!! A guy in a Peugeot turned infront of me.....result.......1098R Bayliss lying on it's side in the road.....sad sad sight!! The engineer that came to assess the damage said "no problem....we'll repair that"......then I pointed out that the seat unit was £3000 on it's own......."that changes things" was the reply!!

  3. That'll polish out

  4. Blimey! That looks just like one of those cartoon drawings

  5. I've come off a few in the course of track days and racing but I've never written one off.

I did write off an old Z1000 though. Had a car, that had been pulled over on the side of the road, suddenly do a u-turn in front of me without indicating and I went straight into it. I snapped a ligament in my wrist, did some cartilage damage, crushed my left ring finger between the clip-on and the rear quarter panel of the car (a Ford Falcon for anyone who will know what that is) hit my recently operated on knee on the handle bar on the way through and crushed my nuts against the tank. I slapped onto the back of the car and then rolled off the boot. On the way to the ground the towball caught me in my ribs and turned me over into the gutter. It took me a while to get up!

  6. Putney how did the Ducati incident happen?

Also is it just me or is it that only bikers take pride in their mistakes and in weighting off their bike?

  7. Lots of "Ambition outweighing talent" here

ps. There by the grace of God etc etc

  8. Might not be clear but had two 600RR written off don’t have a picture of the first 600RR.. All rear end damage as the bike was spinning around on its way into the round about....

All accidents were riding in London over a 5 year period.

Incident 1.. Coming up to a roundabout a BMW 3 series crashed into the back of me.. This punted me skywards and bike into a brick wall of a roundabout... the BMW decided I was ok when I got to my feet and speed off from the scene. The bike was 5 days old and insurance wrote the bike off. I was in shock and didn’t get his number plate and the police didn't ever find the driver on CTV either. I don’t think they even tried to be honest!

Incident 2 600RR take 2. After buying the bike brand new I did 25,000 miles riding on this machine including 2.5 winters... This happened on the 10th December 2007 in Putney. Such a shame as it was a great bike and I spent some money on it to get it how I wanted it. Ohlins cartridge kit, an Ohlin’s rear shock. ...along with a few other nice accessories such as ohlins damper, exhaust and some carbon bits and bobs..... As you can see the accident left it slightly shortened due to front forks snapping and the front wheel compressing up into the radiator after giving a Volvo XC90 a kiss..
The car driver of the Volvo pulled out and there was no way of stopping on the damp and greasy road... She pulled out across two lanes and just stopped the traffic so she could turn right... Claims she didn't see me and was flashed out by another car in lane 1.... Took this all the way to court as she refused to take responsibility for it and fabricated a different story of events and even provided a fake witness.... Case went 100% in my favor as her statement was full of self-admitted errors of poor driving practices and the witness statement was full of massive holes too including not remember what my bike even looked like, She couldn’t even remember the color but claims to have seen me filtering into oncoming traffic... All a pack of lies. I still have a fooked shoulder from this accident.

749R... again a two lane incident ... Car driver slowed at a junction and turned left across my path with no warning. I was just going over a zebra crossing after leaving a marked bus lane, (none active Bus lane at the time of travel) , her defense was I shouldn’t have been in the bus lane and admitted to indicating only when changing lanes... Also she tried to fabricate a different version of events but luckily had a witness to the accident including a taxi driver and a pedestrian... My wife was on the back and left with inner ear damage which has taken two years to recover from.

  10. I would so want to comment on that but I had 4 London accidents, one on each bike ;)

  11. Sports bikes in London.... = Fail.

Had a lot of near misses... I wont ride in London anymore and thankfully moved out this year!

The dent in the top of the door was my shoulder impact.... 3rd Broken collar bone. ;)

  12. Im really very keen to move out of London. Ive had two crashes in London, the last one thanks to a knubnuts minicab driver where I fractured my left ankle in four places, dislocated my left shoulder, fractured the knuckles in the my right hand and snapped a tendon in my left. Im convinced that if I dont get out of this City, its going to kill me :frown:

  13. Well yes but it is not only motorbikes in this city. Everything has a possibility if whacking you :) Air pollution, fire, tube going wrong, bus driver having collision with tram, bus running you over, car running you over, builders not securing stuff on scaffolding, stress, prices and so on :) Love this city :)

  14. Two for me in my youth. A Suzuki 250 and a Yamaha XJ900F. One death involved ( 17 year old riding a Kawasaki 250 ), the third guy was on a Yamaha 250 and broke his arm.
The Yam overtook a lorry, hit the Kawasaki almost head on and I hit the underneath of the Kawasaki, launched onto the roof of a Hillman Hunter head first and fractured the woman's skull on the passenger side. I had a bruised foot and a few aches.
My second or third hand helmet, resprayed in Ford metallic purple and a Bob Heath Visor saved my head from being shaved off.

  15. Rather you than me.

  16. Is your nickname "Lucky"?

  17. It's strange with my 2 'write off' accidents nothing was in slow motion.
With the Pantah, was really going for it around these tight uphill bends, think I got a peg down, then the road opened up as did the throttle, then a longish right hander doing about 70mph, lean it over and the next thing I know is I'm lying on the opposite side of the road with my right fib and tib broken and a big hole on the inside, half way up my calf where the bone wore away on the road, just an ache no real pain. Not sure if I ran out of tyre or maybe just something on the road, but didn't even know it had happened, if you know what I mean, until I tried to get up from the floor.
Pantah would have survived if it hadn't hit a big fence anchor post about a foot in diameter. What a bike though, what a waste.

  18. That'll "T Cut" out :upyeah:

  19. Honda NT400K reversed over by bread truck!, Another one stolen and recovered by cops only to be lost by them! ZZR600 smidsied. No Ducati's lost, but my ST4s is in a sorry state right now as I have discovered that while my hopping cam belt resulted in a bent exhaust valve, there were also badly worn inlet rockers. Bugger.
