Another update (sorry bout this) - SWMBO has worked out the cost of going with DIY kitchens (including appliances/sink etc) as compared to the Wren price. Wren - £8900 DIY - £4780 As she prefers the DIY kitchen, that looks the way to go
our diy one gets delivered next week, quality for the price seems good, went for the handleless version
The DIY one will be rubbish. Ducati owners and Multistrada owners in particular know that you have top spend top dollar to get the best bike in the world.........................oh hang on!
good stuff you could pay me 4k to install it and still be better off! or do the smart thing and spend ya savings on bike stuff!
You seem to have missed the fact that Ron's wife has done the calculations. So the savings are destined for handbags and shoes and not bike stuff
Have a word with the fitter, man to man. He'll understand your plight and up his costs by £1k and slip it in your pocket for bike stuff. Got to look out for each other after all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I work in Kitchen industry "worktops" we're the largest European manufacturer of laminate worktops based in the north east (that's another story with my 400 mile round trip commute to the office) we make on average 30,000 a week!! Always amazes me as to where they all go, but judging by this thread, long may it continue
I fucken hate laminate work tops! I hate work tops in general. In fact I have vowed never to do another. Ill call mister mitre or someone.
Laminate's changing along with the "thin" trend checkout our new 12.5mm solid core (fully waterproof) i can join this and thats saying something!!
I hate Laminate.... because over the last few summers I worked making the flamin stuff in Stoke... moving 8 or 12 foot lengths by hand on to a post form machine was a ball ache. Thank god I have granite in my kitchen cuz when I see it I shudder lol
We've got granite on the main kitchen worktops, but solid oak on the island. Looks really nice but I realise I've become too precious over the oak. I'm now constantly cleaning and oiling it. The wife thinks I'm mad but I think the worktop has more special treatment than the bike at the moment :tearsofjoy:
Given how you keep breaking them we can quite believe it :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:
One... one bike breaks and I get a reputation. By that logic I must also be some sort of sexual lethario [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
oak should be battered. It's supposed to look rustic... Stop being a nancy! When it gets worn out you will probably be dead!
Got a 18th century fruit wood French kitchen table - woodworm the lot - bet it could tell a tale or two ! Patina is awesome
I don't have a problem fitting laminate worktops, the problem with the trend towards thinner tops is the appliances, the fixing clips on inset sinks don't work , many new hobs are getting deeper not allowing enough clearance between the hob and undercounter oven when useing the thinner worktop, I recently fitted a kitchen with the door handles rebated along the top of the base units and bottom of the wall units, the integrated fridge fixing points were where the handles were rebated leaving just 5mm to screw too, I had to fabricate some new brackets myself. Really pissed of with modern kitchens. The designers should be made to go out on site and fit them themselves. Steve
thin tops look shit. Like your idea about designers having to work on site, think that should go across the board with architects' included. Unfortunately even if it did happen it would probably make em even more arrogant and insistent that they know more than anybody else.
Unfortunately they're super trendy at the moment, demand is outstripping supply, we have to go through plenty of tests and trials with the retailers to ensure its fit for purpose, however, there's no accounting for some "designers flair"
