So what have you done today..?

  1. Cancelled my debit card 1/2 hour ago as I couldn't remember seeing it for couple of days and couldn't find it anywhere.
Of course I then remembered where it might be, I was right but too late so got to go and queue up in the branch tomorrow which doesn't open 'til 10 and take out enough cash for the next few days. :punch:

  2. Home alone. Wife and kids all out for the night. Wifey says "at least you can spend all night in the garage and not feel guilty". She's so funny.[IMG]

  3. Donated some stem cells 8 months ago an while they're not at liberty to tell you anything when you ask but I got an answer back to let me know that my donor dude is still alive which is nice. Apparently he has some side effects which are being managed one of which is called "graftvsdonor" I think which is where my stem cell count is so high his body can't accept all of mine as that would kill him but because he has the condition means my stem cells re "running the show" which is good apparently. So, that's put me in a good mood... Yey me!

  4. Well done you. Wonder if he'll be getting weird urges to get motors remapping?

  5. He's probably on ebay looking for a bike to throw money at he doesn't have! :)

  7. Got brakes done on the car. Spotted a very unloved rusting Kawasaki 250 KLR (?) from late 80's looking very sorry for itself. Had a good chat with the mechanic who "owns" it. May have a new project soon.............

  9. Well, kind of, but at least he's still alive (and has a quality of life, he's at home apparently) . So the lady at the stem cell place told me "even if they get 6 months, a year or more that's a life time to them as they get time to sort out their affairs, get time to do what they want, bucket lists etc etc.." so if they get that and possibly more then it can only be good. Personally it would make my day if he's still here in 5 years.... Apparently he may need more so that's going to be fun! But I told her tonight categorically that's not a problem. Be glad to help... Going through donation is a walk in the park compared to what he's going through!

  10. Yes mate. Makes one realise how lucky we really are. I've done the swab for bone cancer or something, maybe one day I'll do something similar, until then it's just blood donation.

My dad had an op for bowel cancer on Wednesday, took out the tumor, hopefully he'll be ok, looking positive so far........

  11. My dad passed away a few years ago from leukaemia.... As soon as he was diagnosed I started give blood and have done since.... I signed up for the bone marrow bit and by sheer luck a match was found... I suppose other could and would sign up and hear nothing, ever... At the end of the day, it's just nice to help.

  12. Sorry about your dad. Been thinking about it lots this week.

My mate used to give blood as his sister died of very nasty cancer. When my mate past, I started, to carry on for him sort of thing.

It can only be a good thing.

  13. I remember your dad passing as it was around the same time mine passed because of cancer. And as I've also "suffered" from skin cancer (last op only 2 weeks ago) I try and help cancer charities, no matter what type, whenever I can because I'd like to see this horrible disease eradicated in my lifetime.

  14. Yep ET.... You never stop thinking about them do you.... I remember about 4 years ago on my old hyper (the 1100evo) I was at his cottage in the drive way with the hyper ticking over. He sat on it, kicked the stand up and said "son, you'll have to let have a go on this!" he then cracked the throttle which made him really jump.... "fucking hell son, this looks like fun....!"

Usually when I'm on the hyper I tend to think about him... :)

  15. Yep you never stop thinking about them and in fact it brings home your own mortality and hopefully, legacy.

Like I said I now not only make donations but also try and do stuff to help the cause too.

But onto brighter things.........last night we went to see Jack Whitehall in Manchester, who was hilarious and I bought a flat cap too :)

  16. Went to see Russell Howard last week (in bristol) home turf for him.... Top stuff.

May pop to MR in Winchester on way buy.
