I do think ducati has evolved to get up there again. It is a very special bike and only that is part of the heritage. We must await the feedback on the R model tofully understand the leap the pani is... Especially the 15 bhp at midrange will get it kicking like no ducati before.. loose another 3 kg, add some sprocket sharpeness and then personalise the geometry ... Well well well... nothing should come close...
Cant you afford a camera with all that tax free money? On second thoughts don't bother. I'm envious enough just reading your bloody posts  Enjoy
Here is the beast. She's pretty much finished, all the plastic has been replaced with DP Carbon, she has articulated brake and clutch levers (DP) and DP rearsets. The carbon conveyor covers and generator covers are on order. I need to take a bloody hacksaw to the DP tail tidy, I didn't know bike number plates are so small here. I also need to remove the UK tax disc holder. She's a beauty, when I first saw photographs of the Panigale I was totally underwhelmed. However, they are so stunning in the flesh.
I've now had time to have a couple more rides and the more I become familiar with this bike, the more I realise how spectacular it is. I haven't changed much, but I have switched from "Sport Mode" to "Race Mode". I have pretty much kept the EBC, DTC and Engine Braking Modes as "Sport Mode". However, I have lowered the DTC to 2 and switched the Race Display to Road Display. Although the power output is the same in both modes, it has made a difference to the riding characteristics. Previously, power delivery was very much like an RSV4, now it is much more Ducati like. It really is very similar to a 1098R. There is an instant rush as soon as the throttle is opened, I was laughing into my helmet as soon as I switched modes. Marvellous, I can't wait to ride her again. This bike is magnificent !!!!!!!!! One person not so happy, is this poor bloke. You've got to feel for him.
