As the thread title states, thinning the fleet a little... reason for sale is pragmatism, can't ride them all. Would love someone else to enjoy them. 1989 Suzuki GSX-R 750K (H plate) Owned since March 2015 @ 41k miles Tuned (Dynojet and set up) by Bob Farnham in 2013 Painted by Dream Machine (GBP 1,300 cost) in 2013 Recent oil change service Period Yoshimura exhaust system Brand new Bridgestone Battlax BT016PRO a month ago, done about 100 miles on them MOT'd until June 2017 or I'll MOT it for full asking (Spares supplied with bike: Original screen - yellowed and scratched but OE for the bike, spare clocks and top fairing stay) GBP 3,500 ovno 1999 Honda CBR900RRX FireBlade (T plate) Owned since April 2013 @ 29k miles Micron race-spec end-can (same as McGuinness had on his RRX racebike ) Recent oil change service Recent NOS mirrors Recent NOS RH middle fairing section (original part was cracked) Bridgestone Battlax BT016PRO fitted 2014, still plenty of life left in them as done @ 1,500 miles MOT'd until June 2017 or I'll MOT it for full asking GBP 3,000 ovno I'm located in the north of Lincolnshire, about ten minutes from Caistor, not massively interested in a PX unless it's for something very interesting. Bank transfer is my preferred method of payment and I'm not in a screaming hurry to sell, so crazy "R U in now M8, I haz 500 sovz n wil bye yor blayde" messages will be discarded contemptuously. The bikes are stored thoughtfully in a purpose built building away from home and have been maintained well, so the condition is very nice. I've sought out NOS parts where possible (e.g. mirrors for the GSX-R came from Toyko and Tel Aviv as NOS boxed items, RH middle fairing and mirrors for the 'Blade were NOS from David Silver at considerable expense) and keep my bikes pretty clean. These were "bedroom wall" bikes for me as a kid and I'm really happy to have owned them, both adequately fast for the road and the 'Blade is a hoot. I've also got a "barn-find" condition 1986 Suzuki GSX-R 750F (not a GSX600F or GSX760F - although weirdly I do also have a GSX600F with just under 12k miles on the clock that might be available if interesting to someone) but I'm not sure whether this black / red slabby already has a home, it's on a D plate and is a JDM model with the 3 clock binnacle that includes a fuel gauge. It's a very original bike, down to the uncut / unbroken fairings, original mirrors, uncut rear mudguard, original indicators and cheese-grater exhaust and myriad factory stickers. Other than putting a battery / cleaning carbs it's untouched. Would want a pair of tyres on it and a chain / sprocket kit before then flying through an MOT test and be ready to fly... that'll be around GBP 4,000 with an MOT or around GBP 3,500 as it stands, if the interested party doesn't get an OK from HQ. PM on here, or email me at [email protected] or SMS me on +44 (0) 7480 217801. Thank you
Also a pic of the Slabbie... the belly pan is off it right now but I have it and it's intact and all original fasteners are with it. It's an amazingly untouched bike, an '85 "G" model with 47k on the clock and in original Japanese domestic specification (other than having been derestricted). It was imported to the UK in 1994 and has had four owners since then. Carbs have been cleaned but would stand a balance to get it really running sweetly. Other than that, a deep clean and a polish should see it about right. I'd probably sling some fresh tyres and a chain / sprocket kit on it if I was planning to use it.
Owing to extreme laziness on my part I've failed to sell these so far and have actually got another couple to throw into the pot... time to thin the fleet a bit... :disappointed: So with it being winter and all, I'm dropping the prices a bit too. So: '85 Suzuki GSXR750G - Very original, great fairings (belly pan is there, was just removed to put fresh oil in), exhaust, unmolested, needs gentle recommissioning only (tyres and chain / sprockets / carb balancing), runs, FRESH MOT: £3,500 ono '89 Suzuki GSXR750K - As per above, reduced to £3,000 ono '98 Honda CBR900RR-X - As per above, reduced to £2,750 ono '00 Yamaha YZF-R1 5JJ - 20k miles, long MOT, great condition, original screen / exhaust / NOS rear mudguard supplied, Ohlins / Harris steering damper, Scorpion end can, double bubble screen, brake reservoir cap NOS Yamaha original now fitted rather than blingy nonsense, £2,750 ovno '03 Ducati 749S - 21k miles, long MOT, great condition, mono conversion, Ohlins forks / shock / steering damper, Termi system, very recent BT016PROs, not mint but very clean bike and unreasonably fast for a 750. Very agile little bugger. Supplied with spare fairings, fitted fairings VGC (spares in need of some repair - thanks to Parcelfarce), fitted with Exact-Start cables and recent battery so is actually a brilliant starter... a rare feat for a 749. S model, Speedymoto open clutch cover. £4,000 ovno Treat yourself, it's almost Christmas!
Can I do that? I didn't want to clutter the FS forum with multiple non-Ducati FS ad's, but if you're cool with that then I will. Thanks @El Toro
There are a couple more slabby pics and a short video here. I will get around to breaking this thread into individual bike sales shortly... There's also a Yamaha TY250 here that I'd be prepared to let go of, looking for around £1,300 for that or £1,500 with a fresh MOT (it's road-legal and has a V5). More of the R1 here. More of the Slingshot here. More of the FireBlade here. More of the 749 here. No fire-sale prices, but very good quality bikes for not a lot of money, most of them still more than hold their own against modern machinery ridden by average Sunday riders. Cheers
Humility is a gift, you and me both buddy! While drinking coffee at Willingham Woods I've met a lot of riders of 2016 litre bikes who are being held back by the capabilities of their machines...
Bike looks good really like the 749/999 shape and if I didn't already have 2 Duc's would be tempted  Just a heads up but questions will probably be asked as to why R/H fairing has just 749 and L/H fairing 749S.
Because I hit a grouse at @ 160mph... that was a scary day. There was a massive BANG and the fairing was ripped off and hit me on the side of the head, bike sideways and foot off the peg... I was not getting off at that speed, thankyou! I travelled @ 3/4 mile between impact and reaching a semi-safe stop... went back for the fairing but it was kippered, having been hit on the bargeboard by a winged-cannonball. I took this pic while my heart-rate was going back down. I've been trying to find a RH 749s fairing since. It's like the day I was riding around and stopped for a coffee to discover that the 749 had shed its numberplate and mount somewhere along the journey...
All still here... sheer laziness prevents me pimping them more enthusiastically... Did I make them all too cheap? The '85 GSX-R is now MOT'd, as is the TY... so should ask a bit more for them really now, especially the GSX-R as that cost me a packet to put right, with all kinds of expenditure. Wah!
