Have to go north today and do my bit for my olds. Take mother to church (don't believe in it myself but if it makes her happy ). Then take both of them shopping, then take them to my sisters for lunch. Then drive all the way back home. Hurrah!
Went to a mate's wedding reception last night. The venue was 8-10 miles away and it cost me £75 in cab fares. Not impressed. Had I known beforehand the venue had guest rooms and I could have driven there and stayed the night for £60
Two different firms, both had meters. And I know the guy who's licensed to alter the tariffs on the meters, and he reckons they're untamperable. UK cab fares are bloody ridiculous, fuel is no cheaper anywhere else in Europe but a cab in Germany is half the price.
Cat has killed a wren which is sad. I like wrens and you don't see many about here. To atone for it just about to install a second bird feeder elsewhere in the garden.
Figaro I rarely use taxi's , when I do I'm always horrified at the price, just seen this YourTaximeter | UK Taxi Fare Calculator | Airport Transfers | Home - YourTaximeter | UK Taxi Fare Calculator | Airport Transfers
home from hospital now, managed to get out of bed this morning, will try and have some form of shower or wash. everything is difficult then something core like a hip is bu66erd....
Well, it could look like that. Cat admittedly doesn't kill that many birds, and I figure that if a dozen more survive the winter thanks to my soup kitchens, it sort of makes up for those that it kills. In any case, there are about a dozen cats around here that visit my garden regularly. So even if I didn't have a cat, there wouldn't be much difference in the bird murders. My cat usually kills mice and voles (and not that many of those, either). But things are being bumped off here all the time, what with the buzzards, kites, martens, foxes, let alone the cats. The nights are filled with shrieking animals.
Yeah, they do put a crimp on your day, but at least i'm still here. With the likely move of my office coming up its likely i may be doing 80 miles a day when I return to work, so given its the left thats knackered I think an automatic car may be on the cards - I don't fancy getting caught in two hours of traffic like my mate did on friday night doing that exact same route. I reckon a Mercedes CLK, BMW 320 or Volvo C70 are top contenders. flip flopping between the volvo and mercedes at the moment..
It is as I thought. 20 quid to go from Heathrow Terminal 1 to Heathrow Terminal 4. Use the train for free, you cry. Yeah, well, I could tell you a long and very boring story about how I had to once take a cab to change terminals to avoid missing a plane. Still smarting about the cost years later (and even wrote a letter of complaint to obviously no avail).
What you need Phil is a nice woman to soap you down and fluff up your pillows. Once again, have you tried Rohypnol..?
