Just about to change my 2016 DVT to an Enduro and the one thing I can't find is a rear luggage rack/plate for it. The grab rails of the Enduro are different to that of the DVT and there don't seem to be any on the market. I just need a luggage flat plate to support soft luggage, I don't want a top box at all. I could try to create some brackets to support my current one or buy a 2016 grab rail and fit it to the Enduro as they look like they have the same mounts. SW Motech will release one this year but I need to solve this before my trip to Corsica in June. Has anyone seen one for the Enduro or solved this problem by other means?
It might be worth speaking to Palmer Products (palmerproducts.co.uk) as they make a couple rack plates for the 2010 - 2015 Multistrada models: Luggage Rack This versatile luggage rack has been specially designed for the MS1200 and will mount directly onto the bike using the Security fasteners provided. Will allow numerous combinations of luggage retention and strap types. Has various hole patterns to help mount a Top Box base plate or hardware. Made from Stainless Steel with the option of Powder-Coating. Measures 475mm wide x 300mm deep overall. Tail Rack This Tail Rack is ideal for locating a tail-pack or smaller luggage items. Bolts directly onto the rear grab rail assembly using the stainless steel fasteners provided. Provides numerous attachment options and the slots are wide enough for buckle straps to be threaded through for secure fastening. There is also the option to mount a separate Back Rest Assembly if desired, using a unique bracket as shown below - has provision to store flat. Made from 3mm Laser-cut Stainless Steel with a brushed finish - powder-coating also available. I've cut and pasted the details from the Palmer Products website as you can't link to specific pages or product details. I purchased a Luggage Rack for my 2010 Multistrada but never used it in anger as my wife wanted the support offered by a top box and when not using the top box the mounting moulding was large enough for a Kreiga US30 tail pack (mounted inline and partially on the back seat). The Palmer Products luggage rack was a solid bit kit and well finished, I had the black power-coated version.. Palmer Products may be able to do a special if either of the their standard rack plates don't fir or are not what you want. -- Just checked the Ducati Accessories web pages for the Multistrada 1200 Enduro and there is a luggage rack listed: Rear Aluminium Luggage Rack The dimensions and finishings ensure that it integrates perfectly with the shape of the bike, without affecting the aesthetics. Notes: Maximum carrying load: 5 kg Part Number: 96780611A Yours for a mere £184.04 :-( It's listed as fitting on all 2015 & 2016 models including the Multistrada 1200 Enduro.
Thanks a million, I will give them a shout. funny you should mention the reason you have one, it's the main reason why I need one; to stop my wife falling off the back. She likes to have a support behind her and I actually built a sissy bar that bolts onto the rack so I don't need a bulky top box all the time. Cheers!
also...thanks for finding and including a link to the Ducati one. Very odd as I was at the dealer today and they couldn't find it. I will send them the link!

Iain at Palmer Products has been very quick to get back to me and we are investigating the custom build route with possible integrated short sissy bar. I will post what updates on what we come up with but of course cost will be a factor here. Thanks again to everyones help.
so in the end after talking to several custom part manufactures the best option was to buy the 2016 DVT grab rail and fit to it my Enduro. I could then fit the rack I had from my DVT and attach the sissy bar supplied by Iain Palmer (just waiting for that to turn up). I had to chose this option because I don't have a lot of time before I set off. hopefully Ducati (Touratech) will actually start selling one and save others this hassle and expense. No idea why the had to change the grab rail on the Enduro except to maybe ensure they create a market for Enduro specific parts.
From what I have discovered on the official Ducati site, is that the Enduro has been omitted from the list of suitable bikes (excuse if incorrect) the above luggage rack will fit. However, all is not lost as SW-Motech have now produced a luggage rack for the Enduro priced £173.46 on BykeBitz website: Ducati MTS 1200 Multistrada Enduro 16 On Alu-Rack | Bykebitz Overall, much cheaper coupled with a Givi Trekker or similar top box and the rack is just as good as part as the official Ducati one (which you can't get unless you buy the urban package). However, the Palmer product looks good and im all for using smaller independent products.
Hi. I'm considering buying a 2016 Enduro and have a question about the rear box. I've seen that Givi sell the 58l Trekker Outback case however a friend has said that when it's fitted you may not be able to open the side panniers due to the larger size of the top case. Anybody ever have any experience of this? Cheers!!
I use on my Enduro the Trekker Outback 58 with the SW Motech rack, plus the 48l. Givi Trekker Outback panniers. With that combination, the givi panniers open without an issue.- it is a well thought tight fit with the big topcase. With the OEM Touratech panniers I think the topcase would interfere with them, as the Touratech sit a bit closer to the bike than the Trekkers. So I can confirm that all Givi Trekker gear works well together... not sure combining Touratech with Trekkers. btw, I almost never use all the cases together. For commuting, only the top case, and for traveling the panniers + a seat bag does comfortably the trick for a full week. Enviado desde mi iPhone utilizando Tapatalk
Thanks capeones!! The reason for adding the back box (apart from filling with luggage whilst touring) is that the missus likes to lean back and relax against it while travelling. Gives her a lot more confidence on journeys.
