Today I took a look at the exhaust flapper valve on the Multistrada DVT, to see if it was the cause of power loss and poor running. Sure enough the valve was seized. So I set it to be permanently open, and disconnected the operating cable (putting a spring on the end to fool the system). Took the bike for a ride - back to full power and running sweetly for now. Since the bike is still under warranty, I'll get Snells to sort it out properly later in March.
That dog ain't wired up right? Dinner is a big lump of some white fish and 2 bits of chicken - straight from the deep freeze, she just crunches it up with teeth like a crocodile! I put a rug and blanket down for her but she chose a bare stone floor by draughty front door? I'm told it's the "Alaskan" in her.Good fun watching staffie owners keeping their distance
Spent the best part of the last 2 days preparing Carole's new fibreglass race fairing for the painters. Lots of sanding, filling, more sanding (sound familiar @Cream_Revenge ) stopping, more sanding and finally a going over with painter's scotchbrite to evenly key the surface. Took the parts to the painter and proudly showed him the results of my labours to be told he'll have to prime it because of the pin holes and blemishes . Still it'll come back looking nice (in Ford frozen white) and then I've got to fit it. Got a late afternoon run out planned to blow away the cobwebs and find a sausage sandwich for tea. Andy
I'm going to make anyone who wears glasses take them off before looking at my work. And if they don't wear glassed i'll make them put mine on
Been riding around London. I always take my action cam off the bike but never thought someone would be low enough to steal the mounting screw. Going to have to stick a spare h set the seat now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Slipper clutch service tonight on the hyper. All done and back together. Got a comfort seat for the rsv4 from a lad in california which turned up today. Looking for an excuse to go out for test ride... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Pulled a late one in the garage, MOT Friday so just a spanner check to do tomorrow, but to all intents and purposes the FZR is done. [emoji16] -edit- mirror is not touching the wall, but it's very close. Photo makes it look closer than it is...
Within reason, yes. Having said that if I did have to drop one off the collection this is the bike I'm probably least attached to, though I can't say I have any plans to move it on. These late 80's / early 90's bikes ride really nicely and work beautifully at more sensible speeds. I deliberately didn't go to the extremes with this one as I did with the CBR as that seldom gets used, and I wanted a 'rider' not a show bike. I expect this to do the bulk of my mileage.
Moved house yesterday and today.Neighbour popped over to say hello - about my age and looked sort of familiar? When we exchanged names we both burst out laughing cos 45 years ago he was the local tough kid and we had some epic fights and punched ourselves to a standstill on more than a few occasions! All good now though - we are going for a pint or two tonight but I promise there won't be any scrapping! Too old and too knackered for all that shit!
Don't fall for it... he'll have two mates waiting in the pub and they'll give you a massive wedgie! ♂️ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When I got home from work I built some racking for the garage. I'll finish the rest off at the weekend.
Mini break in Ambleside hotel with pool. 5.5 mile hike to grassmere followed by an 8 course taster menu with wine flight. Need a break now
I'm losing the will to live today, so I may feck off early as I'm going to Manchester this evening for a bite to eat and a gig.
