Yeah, that's the sort of thing we would do if we went again. Watch out for the police in Switzerland, they are super hot on speeding and any kind of road rule breaking. One group we met at the Ducati factory in Bologna had just been fined 500 euro each for going over a white line in the road!
Holy Shit! Looks like the Ducati factory/museum is high on our list as well. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
If you're doing the Factory then make sure you do the mountain pass between Bologna and Florence. Its called Passo della Futa and it's where all the test riders go.
Covered 6000 miles on a trip last summer (profile pic is at the Arctic Circle). Kreiga 20 plus 2 x 10's and a tank bag. Bike was great.
This....Ventura rack and a gearsack waterproof tailpack, More stable than a shed full of horses!! :grimacing::grimacing:
Looks good mate. Looking like the ventura kit is favorite. Not sure to go with their bag or something else Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
have a sw motech tank bag with elec in to charge phone clicks on off power stays on tank fill ring and have the s-w panniers had them on my gixer to germany work great
I can recommend Bikeshuttle having used them a couple of times. I've not used their transfer service to Luton airport as I live between their base and Luton, so could make my own arrangements.
One of my mates has the full Ventura gear, bag as well, he reckons the bag leaks like a tea bag in heavy rain, also doesn't like the shape or position? of the outside pockets for some reason, can't remember exactly why?? :confuse: Ventura rack + waterproof bag bungeed on is best option I reckon
Think I'll buy the ventura rack and then see what options there is for a bag Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
The Ventura stuff is great; very stable and out of the wind. Don't get the big bag or you will end up filling it and take too much. The bags do leak, so wrap stuff in plastic carrier bags. I see Ventura finally list a rack for the 1299. I have an 1199 rack, tastefully modified with an angle-grinder so that it fits on the 1299.
