Looks like this three won't be going raiding in future Three teenage burglars shot dead in US - BBC News
If I lived in the US and was confident that the law was on my side I would do exactly what he did. For me its purely a matter of legality. Morally I wouldn't lose a wink of sleep. Live by the sword, die by the sword as far as I'm concerned. If I met an armed and masked intruder I would assume my life was in danger and I wouldn't wait for the matter to be put to the test. I'd be thinking only in terms of staying out of jail, avoiding a criminal record and keeping my guns.
Good on him They shouldn't have been in the house and they where also armed. Fuck them, a few less shit heads in the world
They left their human rights at the door of the house they broke into. What followed after, was all of their own doing and consequence of their own actions. I hope the 23 year is being fully supported as taking a life for decent people, is not as easy as some would think.
I'm surprised any of them got out the car, the getaway driver being such a looker [emoji23]. They sound like they were prepared to instigate a bit of violence if needed, they just didn't count on getting any back. Good riddance! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not sure killing 3 guys armed with brass knuckles and knives by shooting all of them with an assault rifle would stand up in a British court of law and not just because an assault rifle would be illegal here. Any force used would need to be proportionate.
Probably didn't have time to consider it disproportionate, then go and get his own knuckles and knives. Idea shouldn't be proportion, it should be to win and keep your own life. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You break into a house, masked and with a knife. Well, all bets are off and they had it coming in my book. What would the consequences have been for the home owners if they did not have a weapon to defend them selves? As above though, I'm not so sure the outcome would have been the same for the shooter in the UK.
Who's to say what is 'reasonable force' when you're greeting by an intruder in the dark, dressed in black and armed!
Yes, the knuckles and knives suggest they had no plans to be polite. I'm not sure we know the final outcome yet, just his defence. I think he might struggle to prove he needed to kill all three of them, even in America. I doubt a police officer would get away with that but a member of the public can't be expected to keep a clear head of course.
Can you just fill out this small survey before I decide whether or not I use deadly force? 1. Are you just here for a few bits and bobs and going to leave quietly through the back door? 2. Are you thinking of just maiming my children who are asleep in their rooms? 3. Do you promise to leave my wife out of this and not molest her? Yeah, feck that. Shoot them.
It will be fascinating to see how the American legal system views this. Maybe he shot one and the others kept coming, we don't know. That's his best defence though.
I met a Peruvian lady who used to keep a police snub nose revolver in her bag. She reckoned the plan was to shoot an assailant with the first shot, then fire one in the air and one in the ground. When the police turn up, lie through your teeth about the actual order...
the last time i had three burglars in in my living room i just switched over, been doing it ever since. the thought of staring at Cameron, Osborne or May in me front room is just to much to bare.
With an automatic weapon he could have shot all three pretty much instantaneously. I doubt he was too selective or had time to be.
I think there was supposed to have been some exchange of words before he shot them. Maybe they refused to back down and went for him. Pretty stupid against an automatic rifle though...
Indeed but the farmer who shot a burglar after several burglaries on his farm was convicted because the guy was shot in the back while running away
Fair game in my opinion. If people thought they'd not get away with burglaries then I'd wager there would be far less of them. Scum of the earth. I honestly think these c*nts who are stealing bikes in London should be shot to shit myself. Go back to cutting hands off. Theft angers me on a whole new level.
Oh, I forgot to add that the farmer left him to die from loss of blood and the judiciary took a dim view of that. Then there was the case of the young American guy who armed himself, then went to a dodgy neighbourhood, allegedly hoping that someone would try to mug him. He shot someone dead and got off but it was very controversial. even in America.
