It's good to see your attitude is where it needs to be to recover from something as rough as you've been through. Getting just the smallest amount of feeling back on both sides is great news, it must have been a massive relief when you realised there was still something there, and it does bode well for a better recovery than maybe some were expecting. Anyway, never mind the attitude and skill sets of the Doctors, what are the Nurses like? Careful though, when you request your third bed-bath of the day they tend to get a bit suspicious. Nasher.

Hi, Unfortunately I havn't managed to see much of Sam due to so much going on with work and trips but he is out of the spinal clinic in about three weeks and looking forward to a beer from last time I spoke with him. He's been working super hard and making the most of the clinic and currently becoming a ninja on the wheelchair they have given him. His car is going to be converted so he can get around independently which will be great. I'm hoping to catch up with him soon so will stick a proper update on.
That's great news. Is it too early to ask how the accident happened. Not through morbid fascination but similar to the aviation industry where everyone can learn how to avoid similar situations.
Hello mate. I was chatting to Sam a few days ago. He's back at home and settling in ok, he just picked up a new wheel chair this week that does better wheelies than the previous one. In terms of the outlook there's unfortunately no change and statistically it's looking a lot less likely he will get feeling back below his ribs and in his legs at this point. His spine is still in shock from the trauma ( I can't remember the correct term ) so there's still hope that once this calms down that he will get some change so he needs to keep the training going and the visualisations and so on to try to keep his body reacting in the best way. He's coping well and very positive but there's a lot to deal with and a huge amount of money to pay for wheel chairs, rehabilitation equipment, car conversion and so on. The initial medical costs are covered by insurance but there is only limited cover for the very expensive longer term things that give him a better chance of recovery and general quality of life. Then there's also what was a nearly new 1199R Panigale which he owes £20k on still. I've stripped the bike down to work out what value is left in it but it's looking like we'll only manage to get back about half of what he owes if we are lucky. I'm going get the full details of everything documented and then start a crowd funding page to try and raise some money to help out so we would really appreciate if you guys can get the word around once I get that sorted.
Hi Max, I have the data so will look at getting some information out but it was a bit of a freak accident so hard to really take anything away from it.
