Very sorry to hear your news, Viv, but really hope that it will all turn out OK as it now does for so many people. Having read Pete's article, I won't say "stay positive" but I still think that optimism is the only frame of mind to adopt, as the alternative would be pessimism and where's that going to get you? x

Sorry to hear that you too are having to fight off this awful illness. Stay strong keep nice thoughts in tour head to chase away the bad ones, the treatment is harsh but it works. I will keep you in my thoughts. Love and blessings

It has been a whole year since my operation. Tomorrow I have an appointment at UCH clinic at which I expect to learn the results of my latest tests. If they are all clear, as I expect, I hope to go down to a much lower follow-up monitoring regime for the future. Update: Results were good. I am on 6 month monitoring for a year.

Deffo puts life into perspective, i had kidney cancer last year, had it removed on the 18th of october, came home on the 21st and bought a pikes peak on the 1st of november and sat looking at it for 5mths in my dinning room, because i was to fuked to ride it, one thing for sure whatever comes has to be delt with, look int the alkaline diet and drink bicarb soda. Cancer can only survive in an acidic environment, if you can get your body into an alkaline state the cancer shrinks and die's. go on youtube and look up Jim Humble and MMS, the tumor in my kidney was 60mm so i lost the whole kidney, but the way i see it it's better than being dead, the down side is i can only go for a pint once a week because it takes me 3 days to piss it out.
