  6. Is anyone else mightily pleased that Line of Duty is back on TV?
Gives a whole new sense to the weekend (or at least the tail end of it).

  7. Very much so - a fan of Vicki McClure since This is England and met Thandie and her daughter just after she'd finished Chronicles of Riddick and what a lovely person she is

    Loving this series :).

  10. That's what makes a great actor: they can be charming people in real life playing absolute bastards. You have to admit that Roz is an extremely nasty piece of work or will there be a plot twist? Can't rule it out!

  11. She was very good in the Scottish tv series The Replacement.

  12. I'm going boxing tonight. It's the wife's idea. Kids are away so she thinks "it would be good if we could do something together". So apparently us doing "something together" involves me getting punched in the face......I did suggest something else we could do together without leaving the house but that almost got me punched in the face too............

  13. I realised today that I can't stand the double standards regarding gender.

If a woman says she's slept with a hundred men people say she's a slag.

If I say I've slept with a hundred women they say,

    "Feck off you lying bastard"

  14. I went out on the Scrambler for a couple of hours around North Yorkshire and Lancashire (taking in Settle, Horton in Ribblesdale, Hawes, Ingleton, Kirkby Lonsdale, Clapham and Long Preston), whilst SWMBO went hiking up Pen-y-Ghent with her brother and sister in law.

#1 son, wife and kids also went up Pen-y-Ghent, which is awesome given the kids are just 5yo and 3yo. They aren't back yet so I wonder how much carrying #1 son had to do?

#2 son, wife and kids went to Barnoldswick and Kettlewell for a mooch apparently, but seemingly spent most of the afternoon in various cafes.

Here's a couple of pics from around midday near Horton in Ribblesdale:)

And one of my eldest (5yo) grandson near the top of Pen-y-Ghent :)

  16. Is that the "Hammerhead" model?

  17. MOT for T9. Straight through (chain a little loose though (but i prefer it on the loose side)).
FYI - black is an awful colour for a bike, shows every spec of dirt/dust.

  18. A very sad day today.

After 7 years of medical training and hard work, a very good friend of mine has been struck off after one minor indiscretion. She slept with one of her patients (they were good friends) and can now no longer work in the profession she loves.

What a waste of time, effort, training and money.

A genuinely nice lady and a brilliant vet.

  19. Me and SWMBO have had a fairly lazy day today whilst #1 & #2 sons and families have gone to Malham Cove.

    This morning we went to the supermarket in Settle to buy some bits for a "can't cook, won't cook" game all the adults are playing tonight. Maximum spend is £10 for a mains and desert dish, and each team has 20 minutes to cook each dish. We bought;

    1no purple sweet potato
    Some lambs liver
    1no big mushroom
    A bag of bulghur wheat
    Oxo cubes
    1no Mango
    Semolina
    1no small smarties chocolate egg
    A small pot of cream
A small bag of chopped mixed nuts

It'll be a laugh to see what the team that gets that lot make. Likewise it'll be a laugh to see what weird and wonderful ingredients we get to play with too :D

This afternoon, also whilst the kids are out, we've done a treasure hunt for all the grandchildren. It'll be bloody mayhem when they get back! :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:
