British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.

  1. duke, what's it like in your head, an inevitable fun park of sillyness for your own amusement.

Not one single person with any sense expects at the stroke of midnight one day for it to change at 1 minute past. There is always an implementation phase of change, the rules will come in but the implementation always yakes time.

This is where you can spot some of the sillier remainers from brexiteers. Most of us who voted out are looking as we said all along, for our children and childrens children and their future. Most constant remoaners see the future uptil their next facebook status

Once the agreement is agreed. it could take a few years to implement, not many. The key points will come in quite quick and they will be our future pillars of how the U.K. will go forward.

I'm surprised given how often you say you are in touch with senior business leaders duke that you do not know such things.

  2. yip, there will be a lot of unhappy people about wondering why there unemployabilty wont reverse overnight in two years time.
as we know already, not all brexireers are bigots. but all bigots are brexiteers
and in my mind such divisions promoted or at least overlooked by your government.

  6. Transitional period could be anything from 1 year to 50 years. They are grappling with the fact that they are up shitcreek and someone has nicked the paddle.

Or maybe business has had a word in her shell like and said you stop us employing who we want and we will piss with your economics like never before.

  11. Some thing that keeps being overlooked I feel is that this was a U.K. vote that everyone took part in. If the devolved governments had been smart they would have asked for a country by country vote and refuse to take part in a national vote, I might be wrong but I do not think they did do that

So as a national vote, one took place, it was a democratic national vote, one that is allowed under eu law and under the same eu law, the British voted to use the democratic right and from that we had a vote result.

It's also worth remembering when the scaremongering continues particularly around free movement, when we leave, the ability to travel within europe will not stop, it will continue. The only change is why might have to filling in a visa in the same way we do when we visit the states or a small charge like $10 to visit the Dominican. If it is a monetary amount then we simply match it which would be no bad thing for the economy.
