  2. Well the pricks have had us over, phone call from my mum at 2.10 this morning saying they've been robbed, jag x type estate gone, motor home rolled back into middle of road and tried to start but the key they picked is the one the immobiliser isn't working so would turn over but not kick up, this woke my parents and he jumped out of motorhome and into jag and fucked off.

Tried to remove glass from external glazed patio doors but glass cracked so just split the doors in half and got in, took keys and some belongings to top of garden, sorted thru all keys then opened up the garage with what they had and ripped the other locks off (5 in total) gave up as they didn't have key for chain thru back wheel but Ducati key was in ignition ready to go. Left the bandit tho which wasn't secured at all but it's a shit heap so rather have car and motor home. Took my carbon helmet and now found out this isn't covered on parents contents insurance and I have to claim thru my bike ins... no thanks I'll just buy another as claim isn't worth it. They just always pass the book and tell you claim on the other insurance.

Police turned up and were helpful or as much as they can be. Soco turned up for prints and some spit I found and covered so wouldn't disappear when it started raining to be told that it's to expensive for DNA tests to be done for burglary so sorry but cut backs, they've also got rid of footprint forensics now. So unless there's been injury or harm... then nowt really they can do, the area she covers is vast which has been mentioned above.

Best bit is although I've not finished the shed/garage yet I get to take it back home and put it in the house until it is.

  3. Those sound bombs sound interesting, although id probably forget to disarm them, and then deafen myself. Im paranoid about security, and seldom open my garage door to let anyone see what ive got, but sods law the other weekend I opened the door to get the hosepipe thru to wash my car and within 3 minutes some pikey turned up offering to tarmac my drive. Needless to say he must have got a good eyeful of the treasures in my garage.

Personally I wouldnt fit one of those bar things you put outside your garage door as it always says to me that there is something worth nicking inside of it.

  4. For fuck sake

  5. Just to add that the soundbomb in integrated into the alarm....ie in my garage ive got a keypad with an additional keypad which i can either key in the code or, hold the fob up - that auto disarms the the whole lot.

  7. Stu just read your post and sorry to hear the news. I used to leave our lids and gloves in the garage but now I will take all our kit into the house, a pain but worth it.

  8. One of the lads who comes into work had been building his Lambretta for 3 years, it was a complete one off, custom engine/ frame/ exhaust etc.

Second time out he took it to a local bike meet and the same night he had it stolen, so they'd obviously followed him home.

You can't have anything these days without some scrote trying to steal it unfortunately.

A fair few years ago someone was breaking into sheds round our area, I believe that got dealt with "in house" so to speak.

  9. I feel your pain and I understand that this kind of thing makes anyone angry, but unfortunately you are fortunate in this kind of problem. Unfortunately in Brazil we do not have this kind of assault, here the thief´s picks you up with a gun in your head.

  10. Having my garage built as we speak. Missus thought I was mad, speccing no windows but I've no interest in even letting people peer in to gauge loot worthiness. Also got a concreted in ground anchor and CCTV. Bike also has a tracker.

Might go getting an alarm on the garage (PIR) just as an extra.

  11. Would strongly suggest running 8 core alarm cable to the doors, 1 to where a keypad would go, one high for a sound bomb and one high for a pir.... Run it all back in the house to a central point for a panel...

  12. I started off not having an alarm and I got one and I felt so much more relaxed afterwards. Best money I spent towards the bike.

  14. My garage has been broken into twice but luckily nothing taken. We have a problem with opportunistic joy riding neds in Aberdeen. Fortunately they only take things that are easily rolled away but they know there is at least one bike in there so they periodically break in to see if I've forgotten to chain it up etc..... It makes me so angry :rage:

  15. We had a spate of thefts in an area I used to live in. One day, the wife was driving us back from the shop (I always do the driving but for some reason she wanted to that time) and a white van came tearing up behind us and forced her off the road. The van was clearly in 'getaway mode'. As the Ben made a left through our village, there were numerous cars in the way so it went on the wrong side and played chicken, forcing oncoming cars off the road.

I knew it would be the thieves so got the reg. I called the police and told them the reg, direction and road names etc... police turned up 2.5-3 hours later, called my mobile and said there was no sign of the van in the area. I informed them that, at their response rate, the van would have had to be going slower than walking pace to be apprehended and that I did specify they were racing away from something they'd done.

I wish I'd been driving, I'd have followed. They got my bike a couple of days prior to this incident and maybe I'd have gotten it back had they been apprehended.

  16. Friend of a friend has his sprint stolen in Kent last night.

This shit just gets worse. They need to start handing out proper punishment for this now.
