I recently ordered a "light smoke" screen from ebay.... Bloody thing arrived and it was a flippin fugly horror... Sooooooo.... I have chopped it into something beautiful... Eat ya heart out Auguste Rodin! Anyone have any edging?
Thanks. I used a dremil, although I think a disc cutter would have been better, bigger disc with less wander, then a bench grinder, followed by a hand file and sand paper. The material is actually quite easy to work with and get a good finish. Don't really need any edging, it has finished that well. I believe its polysomething, I don’t think you could do the same with a clear screen as I believe they're Acrylic and would shatter. Seems like a lot of fuss for a screen, but I don't particularly like the blister type and wanted something with the same length (front to back) as std, but with the additional height (top to bottom) of a DP. Most seem to be Airblade style, very tall and very long. I just couldn’t find one apart from in the States $$$$ + VAT + Tax. This screen was ~£20. I'll post some better pics when I have a mo.
Before better than after. Corse type screen for better protection and streamlining. After - midget screen but nicley fitted.
eeeeeerrrrrr thanks, I think... No doubting the benefits of a big 'un, but boy they ugly! ....also, what I've ended up with is a screen 2 inches taller than stock and is still in keeping with the curves of the bike.... Who want's one? £60.00 pay pal accepted...
Are you going to sell the off-cuts as well, or just keep reposting the same advert over and over again?
Now, who's going to add one of those late 70s/early 80s Rickman white barn door fairings to their Monster? Keeps out the cold!
