Today I have put new bearings in my wife's golf trolley, I have repaired the spedo drive in the front wheel of my Honda 250 and had a hair cut. Steve
Spotted I have a minor oil leak on the 1198 last night On the plus side, that means she's coming out the garage this morning for a ride across to Lincoln Off to see it the lads at Italia Moto can have a look and sort it for me. Fingers crossed it will be an easy fix and sorted for Saturday's run out @El Toro I'll let you know how I get on when I get back home later.
In the game of "can't cook, won't cook" I picked a bag of ingredients that included two bananas, a pot of mixed peel, a block of marzipan and a tin of evaporated milk with which I was to make a desert. I added some flour, honey and Nutella (from house supplies) and proceeded to make a crepe/pancake with banana etc. Efforts are marked on inventiveness, presentation, and of course taste. I have to say my effort was a complete and utter disgrace and disaster! It looked awful despite my best efforts to tart it up. #1 son even said it tasted of potato :tearsofjoy: Needless to say I came last in the desert category. But on the plus side I'll never be asked to cook again. Every cloud and all that............
Today I am going to a mate's funeral, a biker aged 48 died of a stroke apparently, I'm expecting the church to be very very full. Steve
Just heard Sean Connerys version of "Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay". A completely different song to the one I remember.
I asked my Welsh mate today how many sexual partners he has had? He started to tell me then fell asleep.
I got home from work yesterday to find my wife painting the living room walls. She was wearing her parka and a bomber jacket. I asked her why she was wearing them and she said the instruction on the tin said "for best results use two coats". When I laughed she got really emulsional.
So prognosis is the small amount of oil was coming from the Air filter box, quite normal with bikes that have the odd blowback every now and again and for those that like getting the front wheel skywards... I certainly don't get the front wheel heading skywards but did suffer a blow back on the way back home last time off, so I guess that would explain that one Bike was took in to the workshop immediately on me arriving, three cups of coffee and two fags later (40minutes) it come back out with two new fasteners on the fairings which they spotted I needed and the squished flies removed from the front end. £3.76 in total can't fault service like that... Oh and got a free trickle charger lead to bring home for Mrs M's monster as they noticed the one fitted to her's is different from mine... Nice gesture which will mean we can alternate the charger between the two bikes over winter All good for Saturday @El Toro
There was some lovely gear in Italia Moto today! I know there always is and the standard of there bikes is second to none but was a few more nice bits to ogle over today Took a few photos on my phone whilst there... I'm sure I heard that the 999R, Senna & Desmo had all been purchased by the same fella too... Good customer and lovely chap ny all accounts, Desmo is there for thorough inspection for the buyer before closing the deal with the seller and then all heading to new owner who is rebuilding there collection... All 3 were absolutely stunning and would make a lovely addition to any collection! Don't suppose it's anyone on here??? 2017 Line up bikes also there in the front window ready for the official opening of the line up at the weekend.
Ordered a set of marchesini wheels for my z1000 4 months ago - finally i have a tracking number.....and apparently a free tshirt to make up for the short comings of the italian economy....its a wonder they actually do any business atall!
Exmore beckons tomorrow morning so time to check the bikes over. New rear tyre for Carole as I found 2 more tiny cuts in the meat of the tread deep enough to cause a measurable pressure loss, checked and adjusted all the tyre pressures. Chains on both bikes cleaned, adjusted and lubricated. Trying SDoc White after reading someone on here recommending it and have to say so far, I like the product. Just need to see how it performs over the weekend. Fired up the air compressor and blew out all the shit from the front and rear calipers and checked that the front disc float was all good. Cleaned the mirrors and light lenses and gave the bikes a flick over with a cloth. Coffee time now and probably need to look to see if I've clean socks and a pair of shreddies for the weekend . Andy
