I have this 1998 916 Senna for sale and was wondering if any one knows how many are left on the road ?
No Idea, but that's a beautiful looking machine!!! Have a look on howmanyleft.co.uk .... GLWS
Forks look like Showa and damper Sachs to me. Anyone that seriously wants a Senna now will seriously need the original bits to return it to stock.
I have all the original parts. Even the original wheels that have been re poweder coated. Front forks have ohlins internals.
i'd rather own an R for this money, but i am sure it will sell anyway... it is basically standard 916 with paint job and number plaque - am i correct?
If it was mine it would be back to standard and sell all the "upgrade" bits separately, that way you might get closer to 16k, as it stands it is barely worth half that, there are quite a few more of these than folks realise and they are now in the collector bracket. First and foremost for collectors is original and unmolested. Please remove the sticker from the damper, it is like a warning light for anyone seriously looking for one of these bikes.
6 went through Bonham's about 3 years ago - all went for around £6K on the day. Most were on Ebay within a month or two for around £12 to £15K One was a black one like yours, how long you had it?
16K [emoji51] you buy An 998R....for that money. This senna thing is overrated, nice but as yev is saying it's a std 916 with a different colour and plaque. More than 10K would surprise me. I have to agree with some of the comments above, return to standard and sell off specialist parts. I think your asking price is a little ambitious and there are more special models about that are going for less and are just, if not more in some cases, desirable. Ultimately any bike is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
Ohlins rear shock, fully floating cast iron discs ( so SPS spec suspension / brakes ) Carbon air box and number plate holder, single seat, cover, race exhausts and chip and paddock stand. So not exactly standard 916. Only missing the engine of a SPS.
I think most of the senna bikes are still around these days. It was a bit of a collector bike from the beginning and most people did not ride them much. Henk!!!
