no they didnt, tory party politics got you out of europe. It would never have happened without the fear of UKIP taking Tory votes.

Anyhoo, it's fun as usual, but I'm off to deliver Easter Eggs.

  11. Ukip swept the board in the 2014 Euro elections. They took seats from all the main parties. That was the final straw. After that result the referendum was inevitable whoever was in government. The country would have become ungovernable without it.
It was Cameron's preoccupation with internal Conservative party politics that led him not to take the vote seriously. It was a massive historical error of Cameron's but one also made by complacent establishment remainers with a withering disdain for the views of the electorate to think of the referendum as a narrow party political matter, a monumental misreading of the national mood which insulted the intelligence and undoubtedly served to harden the resolve of the millions of leavers who were not conservatives.
I was briefly a member of Ukip in 2011/2012 and it was obvious that the caricature of the party as the provisional wing of the rotarians was misplaced. There were many defectors from across the political spectrum from the Tory right to the militant trade union left. They could agree on little else (which is why the party is so fragmentary and impossible to lead) but they were united in their opposition to the EU. It was pretty clear that there was no possibility of such a mismatched grouping ever forming a party of government but as far as I could see it reinforced the fact that the EU issue had gone far beyond internal party politics and the political and media establishment were in denial.
It will be recorded that democracy took us out of the EU despite a massive attempt to suppress it.

  12. so, the fear of loosing votes? ie, the population pushed the tory's to the right?. does that mean generally speaking you have a right wing population in england?. what does it mean to be right wing these days and what do the the "soft torys" think of their party being pushed in that direction, will they just morph in to kippers? how do people like jv feel that their party is harboring and promoting balls out shit stirrers, racists and xenophobes? currently up here there is at least 7 tory council candidates under investigation some have stood down but are still running as independents. personally i would be horrified if i was a member of such a small party to have such a high proportion of screwballs within the higher echelons of power.
    i would deffo get out.

  13. That one man fin, convinced enough of 65 million that independence could be achieved and it was, huzzahh

The whole of the snp machine could NOT convince the majority of Scots to leave the U.K.

UKIP were always a one trick pony but only the most staunch scot nats cannot see the snp are exactly the same but far less successful.

  14. Erm fin, I hate to break it to you buddy, but...

  16. Don't hate the player fin, hate the game. It's not nige's fault most Scots don't believe the snp

Dont go all briebart on me fin, you know I wrote "enough of the 65 million" try and be correct, there's a good lad.

  18. Given Erdogans re-election into a dictatorship, I would imagine a friendly ex partner like the U.K. will be more than welcomed to the Turk at the door down south

  19. Pound is stronger due to the chance of a much stronger and co ordinated Brexit Government doncha think? - so why do the 'so called experts' who force these markets now think this is beneficial when a while ago they were up in arms with the thought of it all.
Answers from anyone except finm who is shit at this sort of thing thank you :upyeah: (oh and Duke, whatever you write will be funny so you are welcome more than welcome for the entertainment value alone) :smileys:
