  1. And Iphones never fail eh.......;)

  2. If you're daft enough to spend £100+ on a set of levers then crack on.

  3. Hmm... Subjective.... The cheap levers work fine but there is something to be said for the quality stuff like asv.... I don't mind either...

  4. Am not saying that they will all be crap, I just think for probably the most important part of riding, would rather buy a brake lever from a reputable UK dealer whereby some sort of guarantee could be utilised in the event of failure.

  5. Probably hundreds of thousands of sets of Chinese levers sold, I haven't heard of any failures, no warnings given in the motorcycle media, most are probably made in the same factories as the expensive branded items costing 4 or 5 times as much.

  6. I kinda get ya, but its all relative also, as @slinky848 pointed out, if you spend £10-20K on a new bike, why put 20 quid bits of metal on it to do your braking ?

  8. Had to change springs on mine for heavier ones..
Kept vibrating off cam (changing setting by itself)
Bit of a pain in the arse finding the right springs, apart from that the quality is good.

Would I spend a bit more next time....yep!

  9. The use of these Chinese levers has been absolutely hammered on this and many, many other forums.
I've used them and they have successfully hauled my arse to a halt at 170mph+ over and over. I personally prefer the oem levers on the later bikes as they seem (to me) to have the right amount of lever ratio. I can understand 748-998 owners looking to change as they do look a bit cheap and scabby.
Just be careful not to over adjust the brake at the pin, as this can cause the brakes to lock when warmed up. If you look at some over the internet horror stories with these levers it's usually fitment/user error.

  11. Well they are made to an American design, with American software...
I made a mistake when ordering mine and got the long instead of short version.
Glad I did cos they're just right.
Shorter than oem and just the right amount of leverage. They are nicely machined and required no adjustment to the master cylinder linkage at all.
They are super comfortable and in black with red adjusters look fantastic too.
The ones I have are a Pazzo copy but are so well made I wouldn't be surprised if they came off exactly the same production line.

  12. Sorry, I had several pages open and posted the wrong link, have put the vids up from the pages I found that my brother sent ages ago after he had an issue with cheaper levers, they didnt fail on his, but did not fit correctly on his Diavel

  13. You do that. Buy the £100 levers off the reputable dealer who has just bought them for £20 from China and made £80 out of you to cover his guarantee. If by your reasoning they fail, you can scrape yourself off the front of the HGV and get your money back. :)

  14. True that Bob, you carry on with your Bolex watch, Roy Bun glasses, Omani suit, Lewis Buitton wallet and your Arple iPhone, I'll stick with my brake levers that I can find no failure reference anywhere on the internet. Good luck with the Chinese stuff, a nation which is universally acknowledged for its quality products. :upyeah:

  15. theyre levers, not machinery (china sucks at moving parts)

chinese/ebay levers work. but anyone who says you cant tell is lying.

  16. iphones arnt 'made' in china. they are assembled only.

chinas has cheap labour. that part no one can deny.

as far as making and producing. china makes stuff really cheap by copying well made products and cutting corners.

anything with a moving part genrally is awful from china because the corners they cut are tolerances.

but it goes without saying, ebay brand levers. bolts, farings.

they work, but you can tell they are cheap or made with less quality than an official or made with time product.

  17. I can tell. They're much better made than the oem Brembo ones :)

  18. now you factor in oem quality stuff too? we are talking

cheap chinese items/levers vs genuine more expensive levers.

anyone to say a chinese lever works, feels and looks BETTER than a genuine counterpart is lying to themselfs or simply has never tried good levers and is just trolling

  19. I don't think anyone has said that Chinese levers are better than the more expensive levers, just that they do there job and are good value.
