  1. 300 miles around Wales then home. Saw a 12 plate pikes peak at crossgates and a few Multistradas out on the road. And stayed dry :upyeah:

  5. Cut the lawn and hedges, dug the garden and planted some new things, think I've earned enough Ducati points for a blast out tomorrow.... weather pending :)

  6. I picked it up for ÂŁ275. They have just put the prices up but a few kicking about.

I think it's A LOT for an 8yr olds bike but he will use it and they do hold value. I'd rather spend more on something he enjoys using. His 1st bike was a ÂŁ70 Halfords and he could hardly turn the pedals. 2nd was aluminium frame and was night/day. But no gears and he has been complaining it's not fair I have 24.

May have to upgrade mine now as I may struggle to keep up!

  7. So far today I've been finalising the numbers for the boys ski/snowboard trip in 2018.

Later this morning we are off to see all of 3 seconds of the Tour de Yorkshire as it flashes through Holmfirth.

  8. Put some nails down, will see it for a bit longer then.

  9. Heh - i can totally see the point of spending that kind of money....ironically about 8 years ago or so (that Xmas) my wife and mother in law decided it was "time to get our daughter a bike" so they decided a bmx would be a good start....i said "150 quid for a bmx will be a waste of time" and this is coming from someone who spent most of his school life in skate parks on Skates, BMX's or skateboards. Every thing about BMX's is weight, id spend afternoons bartering with mates for bit from my bike for bit from their's to get it a light as possible... I got told instantly i was a "fucking snob" - they bought the bike anyway and i think it was made out of the same material black holes are made out of, or pig iron. Needless to say it got used twice in that time (to the end of the road and back) and then got moved between the shed and the garage. On friday as i pulled up she was wheeling it to the end of the road with a sheet of a4 stuck on the side saying "Please take me". As i got off she was walking back up the road with a smile on her face...."fucking hell somone took it!" to which i was thinking in my head "good luck with that piece of shit mate, youll be shunting that around your house for the next 5 years...!"

  10. Exactly. His 1st bike he wouldn't ride and pretend he couldn't. Remember one day we hit an agreement that if he rode to the end of the road he would get 2 hours on Wii and an ice cream. He got on wobbled to end of the road, ditched the bike and walked back and said "done, where is my ice cream" and refused to ride anymore. I had to go fetch it......

  11. Yep - you pay cheap you pay twice. Effectively my stance on pretty well everything i buy....even down to being in b&q yesterday....a pair or shears....dont by the ones for 16 quid....they'll melt - get the fiskars for 37...so we didnt buy them in the end...

Same with the scooter...no2 son has a cheap and cheerful one (not used that much) daughter (who doesnt use it anymore) has a 300 quid special i built out of bits bought from the shop....son no2 uses that if he's going to use one....ive had a go on it and fuck me its fast - we live on an 8 deg gradiant road and by the time i get half way down im going over 30 with one kick off to get going...

  13. Took the multi out but only in to town to buy a present for my wife's forthcoming birthday. Not much of a ride but on the upside parking was easy. :)

  14. Nice walk around the village for an hour, accompanied the wife on a Tesco run and watched WSBK.

Now fr a bit of sneaker, BSB qualifying (although I am watching Tri Options on TSL live timing now) then think I'll head into the garage and check out my exhaust valve. Keep finding myself looking at multi systems on eBay....
