Afternoon everyone, thought I'd pop in and say hello, having read through a load of posts on here. I'm not a Ducati owner at the minute, but there are a couple that have tickled my interest recently. I have had 2 monsters since 2010, both of which were disasterously unreliable. I tested a Hypermotard 1100 evo? the other week from Ducati Manchester, having originally gone to try the baby brother (seat height reasons as I aint tall!). The upshot of it...holy crap..No bike I ever rode (except my street triple...sorry) ever came close to putting that big a grin on my face!! Had I not just bought (literally 2 weeks previous) a Sports bike, I would have ridden it home that day. Anyway, time passed, I got rid of the sports bike as it crippled me and lost loads of money on it....impulse buys eh? Liking the look of this Hyperstrada too. They say that the Ducati reliability issues of old are gone, so I guess I hoped you guys could confirm this from owners opinions? Usually forums are full of 'this has broke' 'thats gone again' 'this dealers hopeless' etc etc but I see none of this on here...... Sorry to ramble by the way...hopefully speak to you soon! Cheers James
Having gone from an S4r to an 848 SF the smile and ease of use factor has multiplied greatly I hope you find your dream bike soon
Welcome to the forum buddy, as you say, usually get the problem issues arising on forums as most people don't bother to start a thread to say their bike is still fine. Hopefully others will be able to give you some reliability feedback on the bikes you mention - I can only comment on Ducati superbikes and generally they have been fine for me (06 749s and an 07 1098s) Cheers
Hello and welcome James. You will find that folk who have problems will post them up here, it's not a sign that there's inherent un reliability just an easy way of solving your problems!
Thanks for all the welcomes peeps, appreciated! I agree Archer 17, I took the relative lack of that sort of post on here as a promising thing...!?
Welcome to the forum and fairly local to me (North Staffs), must catch up for a ride next year not the weather for the Cat now ;-)
Welcome, and yes, the latter day bikes sem to be reliable (kind of lends itself to the longer service durations offered on post-2008, iirc, models). take your time, get the bike you want, and polish t up for spring. as for the cat n fiddle - bleedin rear facing average speed cameras, and 50mph, grrrr
Thats interesting, thanks again. Looking to get a try on the smaller Hyper, then the Hypertstrada when a demo becomes available. Both are very strong contenders for the next addition to my garage. Freak..you are right there...the Cat is not a pleasant place to be at the minute, especially on 2 wheels!
