One of our rooms is ready for decorating so I've been painting and prepping for wallpaper. Then at the back of the extension we've found a robin has nested in our future living room. Rigged up a robin cam. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Farted the beginning of the tune for Kick Start. Wife didn't find it as funny as I did. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
Sadly Mervyn that's about 19.8 more miles than I've done on my 916 in the last 18 months. I did some miles last year on my TT600 when the Lexus became the victim of economics as it swept past 200k miles and I had to ride to work for a couple of months whilst I sourced a new car. I did zero miles for fun last year and none this year thus far. Family events/issues get in the way. My brother keeps teasing me with offers to meet at Stonehenge ,him on one of his two BMW diesel burners, but nothing this far. Maybe later this year. Hope you get out more as the sun warms the bones! And we enjoy a vintage summer
I've had a great day out on the Scrambler Classic. I left home at 8am and took a bit of a circuitous route up north to see my mum up in Nunthorpe. She's absolutely gone now and not only doesn't recognise me but didn't even recognise my name today But on the plus side she seems happy in her own little world and told me she'd been cleaning the house this morning :tearsofjoy: On the way back I headed from Stokesley to Helmsley on the North Yorkshire TT run. It's been about 15 years since I'd done this run but I remembered it quite well. In fact it only took me two minutes longer than my best time, back in the day, when I used to do it on my Blade and GSXR1000. So I don't think it was that bad given I was on the Scrambler, Sunday drivers were out in force, and I had to stop at some road works traffic lights too. It was sad to see that there weren't too many bikes around in Helmsley. When I used to go regularly years ago you'd never see a car parked in the square, just bikes. It was just the opposite today, and that changed when the local council decided to charge bikes to park. Idiots! Anyway I got talking to a guy who rocked up on a 1098R with a bunch of other folk. One of them had had a 1299 allegedly but hated it so much he returned the bike after 6 days! I can't believe anyone wouldn't try and live with it for a few weeks. I suppose it takes all sorts. From Helmsley I headed to Thirsk via Sutton Bank, then headed to Ripon, Harrogate, Wetherby, and finally to #2 sons house in Leeds for lunch at 2pm. After lunch I played with my 2yo grandson and then went for a walk with him and his 5yo sister to the local playground. After half an hour we came back and I eventually left there at 5pm for home. Again I did a bit of a circuit to get home trying lots of different sweeping, twistie roads When I got home I did some ironing and now I'm lazing on the sofa. All in all I did just over 200 miles today and it was glorious. I wish everyday was like today.
Viv, not been around much on the forum for a few months but what have I missed? Whatever it is I am rooting for you.
I hope you have a better year for some fun biking this year TT600,especially on your 916.A bit of sun would not go amiss. My current hope is to get my old Brit bike out the workshop and get it run up on the roller starter.I have just spent over a year doing a top end rebuld.I last rode it in 2011,and I would like to hear it running again. Watch this space.
4th 12 hour night shift in a row covering obstetrics on anaesthetics and they've all been horrible so far.
@Android853sp we will be there late morning, normally pop up to the track to help them unload, stops me sitting in the bar and getting bolloxed.
I spent hours yesterday removing the sticky backed heat shield from my rear undertray on my 1198. Absolutely fucking hours. I really mean hours. FFS. Plus I got caught with it in the bath and two empty bottles of wifeys nail varnish remover as she came home earlier than I expected. Despite pleading that she 'tidied' up my bottle of isopropynol alcohol and I couldnt find it. Its under the sink she says, under the sink says I? How the fuck am I supposed to know where it is when it lives either in my garage or on the shelf above my PC! Ive still got sticky bleeding fingers and it took hours to remove. So I never got my exhaust on and that undertray was almost discus'd into the bushes. Fucking thing. Wait till she finds out all her eye make up wipes have gone too...
Cleaned the Streetfighter, looks nicer without the all dead flies. Connected the throttle and choke cables to the GTS, what a pain in the arse, you need 4 hands and a lot of patience to get them in the splitters.
Cheers, looking like July before I can see a glimmer of opportunity. And some swine will no doubt snatch that away....
