Matte Cleaning

  1. For a quick spray and clean on a matte finish I use Harley Davidson Denim Paint Cleaner, as and when I get more time I apply a nice coat of Swissvax Wax.

Btw ACF-50 is amazing stuff and you can put it on anything bar brakes. It leaves a slight residue which should be lightly buffed off but leaving the protection on there....

  2. quick thread hijack, if you don't mind, OP.

my GF just bought an alfa with a matte titanium finish. looking at the above, I guess the nanolex and chemical guys ranges are highly thought of, so will make sure she gets some bought. on the car there is a very shallow scratch on the bonnet, the sort of depth that could be done by, say, a piece of hard plastic. with convetional paints it would be out in no time with a bit of t-cut, but I'm unsure how to cut/polish/hide it. any tips appreciated.

finally, has anybody any experience with (a) ventureshield on a car, and (b) ventureshield over a matte finish (i.e. will it make it shinier)?

    thanks,

    Pete

  3. Do not even touch the scratch!

Unfortunately matt paint cant be polished or repaired unless specialised or a full panel respray. Dont put polish near it as you will destroy the paintwork.

Even cleaning should have minimal contact! Yes its a pain but looks good.

Cars can be wrapped and ventureshield has a gloss or matt finish options - will need to contact a wrap place to see what they can do. I use Grayers Graphics in Essex for all my wfap and decals
