  1. Tell me about it Loz. But £900 accumulated fines back in 1984 for no license, insurance, tax, mot etc on a Lammy worth £20 was a fair bit. Most of it re-attendenace costs at cour for failing to pay. However I judge the cause likely to have been my mates sat in back of court wetting themselves at my expense was partly responsible. Top tip. Dont take mates with you. Oh and Im not middle class.

Month later I was back for driving on a ban for 2wks in wandsworth. After that I decided mebbe I should just tow the line. Didnt help that I turnt up to court on my scoot.

I was a real fuckwit as a yoof.

  5. And, for those who never had the pleasure of seeing The Hamsters play live, here is the great Slim (backed by Otis and Zsa-Zsa) at his very best.

Definitely one of the most under-rated British bands ever... Always gave a stunning live show :)

  6. When You ofFENDERed and we're in the slammer, were you a solo artist keeping your instrument strictly to yourself? or did you join in with one of those group sessions, exploring all aspects and avenues of the Oboe ?

  7. Good shout ...

  8. I lived 2 doors down from Barry(slim) till I was 10, he is a year younger than me. He was a talented drummer at that age and was featured in the local paper as destined to be famous.

  9. What about acoustic guitarists? If they're included then a vote for Davy Graham.

  10. Ive seen the hamsters at umpteen places. Good tight pub covers band but thats about it for me. Sorry. Eek.

A good reference for above is me comparing them to ian dury and his band. I saw them in a pub circa 1982ish and that band are one of the tightest outfits ive ever seen. Been a fan ever since. Theyve got a groove.

Loz. Stop trying to get me going off topic but both times sympathetic screws took pity on me and made my life easy. Couldnt believe beak would do that for piddling lambretta offences. Thats Bromley mag for you. But tbh im my own worst enemy and frankly did me good.

  11. Bromley? You might as well live in fecking Switzerland.

  16. Ok, apart from Bromley being the knife crime capital of London ........ Bromley Shopping centre machete 'attack' prompts fears of terrorism | Daily Mail Online

we will bring it this slightly back into topic via a circuitous route....Bill Wyman went to be Beckenham and Penge grammar school( later Langley Park School for Boys, which I may have graced at one point) and which is about 1.5 miles from Bromley.... there you go!

was Bill Wyman a great guitarist?

  17. Bromley is posh mate. You try living in LA! (Little'ampton).

I don't live in LA, by the way, I'd just like to see someone try living there.

Adrian Phillips - terrific on acoustic and electric guitars.
