So what have you done today..?

  1. Like a dick, I managed to leave my reading glasses at the track so have lost 2 days of forum traffic. First things first, @Ducbird hope things are as good as they can be and @El Toro, I know it's difficult but I hope your mum is managing. Second of 3 days at Almeria today for me and Carole and really having fun. About 45 riders and open pit lane format so unhurried to the point of relaxed. Yesterday was a little difficult thanks to the 2 previous night's lack of sleep but that's all behind us. Glorious day today if a trifle hot by the end of the afternoon, 32C at 5:30pm. After the mightmare phonecall when the bikes were being loaded that Carole's Honda was pissing petrol, we're all sorted. Some despicable little shit had tried to steal petrol from both bikes whilst parked on the trailer outside my house. So far both bikes have performed faultlessly and the riding has been awesome. One disappointment for me after 3 years developing my 853, the 1098R is in a different league and will consign the 853 to history. I cannot explain how good the 1098R is in every way. Already 3 seconds quicker than last year on the first day and I have less aches and pains for my enjoyment. Looking forward to the last day tomorrow although I should have had less beer to drink tonight but hey ho, we are with a good crowd. Andy

  2. Tomorrow I shall be attempting to remove the smell of mould and sickly smell from the ex's fiesta. No that doesn't mean me getting out of the car but more disinfecting the air con and replacing the pollen filter

  3. It was my dad's funeral today. It seemed fitting that his last journey should be in his VW T2 campervan, which he has owned since 1982. I therefore drove him in his van from the funeral director's premises to the crematorium. Bit unusual but the van was a big part of his life and helped make the day more of a celebration of his life.

He and my mum toured Germany on their motorbike and sidecar with my sister when she was only a baby (as you do!). Not sure what model it is but like the pram on the roof of the sidecar.

A sad day but he managed to pack a lot into his 86 years.

  4. The pram on the sidecar roof did make me chuckle, I bet he had some cracking stories to tell. Sorry for your loss but I bet he left a life's book of chuckles and memories to keep close and remember him by.

  5. Commiserations Neil, sounds like he lead a great life. Great idea to carry him in the campervan. Was that his idea ahead of time or something you thought of?

  12. well today I woke up on time but didn't want to get outta bed, so I thought I'd just skip me coffee stop on the way in. The I couldn't find the key to the monster, which, after getting the ss out and fired up, turned out to be with my gloves in the helmet...
Anyhu as I'm late anyway I'm having a coffee and bird watching..
ss is being picked up by proteam tomorrow so its not bad that I've taken it in today, just to remind me of anything else id like Al to look at.

  13. Sorry for your loss, know how you feel. My dad passed away a few years ago of leukemia (never made it to that age) one of the things he loved was his MGBGT. My wife's best friend's husband bought it and he can literally turn anything to gold as he's so good with his hands. I thought the car was in good condition when it left us but now its show room condition. And the other day i was on my way home from work and he pulled up in the traffic next to me which put a massive smile on my face. Youll never stop thinking about them, you really wont.

  15. Did the old exhaust pipe switcheroo last night....thought id try the SC Project CRT on the rsv4 and the Akra shorty on the Z. Just got into work this morning and i think ive found my pipe for the zed....ive had a few on there and theyve all been a bit "sharp" shall we say. Ive had obviously the stock, V&H urban brawlers (twin exit system), Austin Racing, Sc Project crt and now the akra (shorty). It now sounds how i perceive it should sound. Just have to test the rsv4 out tomorrow with a full akra set of headers and now a crt so it could go one way or the other....im hoping itll sound good but if not ill be on the hunt for another akra for that...

  19. 9th April I won an eBay auction for some 916 plastics. 2 parcels, 1 arrived after about 10 days and other went "walkabout". EBay seller not the easiest guy to get hold of and replied to about 1 in 4 messages/texts. FINALLY coming today, watching the parcel delivery tracker with "how many drops before mine" and at its current rate it will arrive exactly when i need to pop out for the school run (insert bang head icon here).

  20. Went to the doctors today, complaining of stomach pain.

"I can't find anything wrong with you - it must be the drink" he told me.

    "Don't worry - I'll come back when you're sober"
