Reported Brain Damage now as well, hope he comes right. http://www.msn.com/en-nz/sport/more...-cycling/ar-BBBhFM2?li=AA54ya&ocid=spartanntp
Horrible news, I hope he recovers. I'm not sure what the source was but I saw a translated Italian report saying he had come out of a minor road onto a major road without stopping and the car hit him. How accurate that is is not confirmed.
If what I've read is true I'm afraid he's had it. Bloody awful. I read he was out with a peleton. I can only think he must have shot off on an 'interval'. Basically a period of full gas for fitness training purposes. I'm pretty sure he won't have been dropped out the back, he is a very fit lad. Who knows? Tragic.
It's all very sad. I like Nicky Hayden a lot and have a big respect for his commitment on the Ducati. He's always very polite and smiles a lot. This shouldn't happen to someone like him, but then we know that either there is no God, or he's a bit of turd. GWS Nicky.
It's tragic for anyone to suffer horrendous injuries but it just seems a lot worse when you think the guy earns his living riding motorbikes at 200mph and like many others can walk away after an off unscaved, it's just so hard to believe.
Just seen this hope its fake news as seems the norm in these things these days http://reports-tv.com/ex-motogp-champion-nicky-hayden-is-dead-breaking-news/
I hope he survives and makes a full recovery, but with words like "severe brain damage" being quoted, it's not looking good. I imagine he was wearing a helmet, although from experience, cycling helmets aren't great. When you look at the damage of the car involved, it looks like the initial impact has been on the RHF wing and he's carried on, sort of diagonally, over the hood and into the windscreen and roof. The windscreen frame of any convertible car is a seriously sturdy structure and for a human body to do that damage takes a lot of energy. Fingers crossed for him.
Ffs what is up with people?! Any chance we can find out who writes this shit and send them some kind of virus that f*cks up their systems and their business?!
Probably worth reading this http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/nicky-hayden-earl-hayden-decries-fake-news/ Bless him GWS champ
Haven't a clue about the fine detail of the accident but as it is reported to be a head on collision and they drive on the right, the point of impact is confusing. Hoping for the best outcome for Nicky. Steve
