from the older carbon bits... i'm not sure i like this newer version... is there a change in tech? tx for enlightning me
Any pictures....I know it probably won't show what you mean. Maybe if it's just the stuff off the Pani, Ducati have started to use cheaper materials or suppliers to cut the cost down.
That would explain it....all the third party suppliers have started to do matte finish carbon too....maybe a fashion thing?
I think the diavel stuff is a lot done in matt too Reminds me of my old s4, the carbon was a dull almost green to it
Yeah the sun's UV used to make the old un lacquered carbon go a pissy yellow green colour too. :frown:
Could be pre-preg instead of wet lay up? Traditionally more expensive, but also easier to keep the quality up. Also means you generally don't have the lacquer over the top.
Just bought satin finish for my SF - the shiny stuff looked wrong IMHO - good job we have different tastes
I think it looks good on the matt bike, I had a monster dark, that flat carbon would have looked good on it
I prefer satin/matte finish, it's what I have on my Dorsoduro Factory and if available it's what I will put on my new multi!
i'm a satin lover only with medium coarse weave. Glad i'm not the only one whose fussy here - saw a Diavel with carbon and for once I preferred the 'without' version.
Some zorst manufacturers lacquer the carbon, some don't, although it still looks shiny but not maybe as shiny......I don't mind that finish.... AL
Proper high quality factory carbon is matte, when form takes a back seat to function, laquering is a gain in pointless weight.
