Rob for those who are never likely to own or ride a DD me included tell us what is it like to ride in comparison to say a1199 pani or similar.?. do you track it or ride it on the Road as well?
I've never ridden an 1199, but compared to the 1098R, the fact it is a 4 cylinder bike give it a totally different character. It doesn't have the low down grunt of the 1098, but screams at the top end and just keeps going. It is rock hard on the road, but remarkably comfortable to ride (nobody ever believes me on that). The sound is glorious with the GP7 exhaust, but ridiculously loud, I'm amazed I've never been pulled over because of it.
Superb! I got a call from Glenn at Moto V a while back now saying he had just fitted the racing exhausts to a DD and would I like to see it.. I'm quite deaf in one ear but Christ, boy was that thing loud! Your ears felt like they were bleeding.. you must have very understanding neighbours ..
What are you going to get next Rob, anything on the horizon? You have all the best shaped Ducati's as it is, in my opinion.
Nothing on the horizon. I'm trying to bring my retirement forward a few years by saving up, but keep finding myself tempted by the consumer market. I wish Ducati would make some ugly bikes to help in my mission. Still, it could be worse, I could be a serial hoarder like @Exige
Definitely my favorite 'special' Looks bloody gorgeous. And a fabulous wail when clapping on. Maybe one day.....
Thanks for the deal, just an update, would you consider taking the bike back? im finding first gear way too tall for stunting, let me know your thoughts. cheers.
Yeah, OK, I'll swap back. I did lie yours on the floor for a bit so that I could polish the Termis, but I think it's OK.
