They probably didn't make any so that they didn't step on the toes of the bigger models I'd I'd imagine.. My dealer told me that the 959's that are getting the 'trioptions kit' is because Ducati aren't selling them well in the uk and that the it's a 'dealer thing'
I imagine the standard exhaust puts a lot of people off. And also the 1199 had a rep as a difficult bike to get on with so people who were potentially in the market for either (like me) went for the 899. But the 1299 has much better reviews in terms of usability so it's only a matter of cost so lots of people.
