Did you know I've become completely independent since my wife left me last week. That's the second load of dirty washing, I've put in the microwave this morning.
Back as the hospital today to see how the dislocated fingers (well they were...) are getting on. They cut the plastic sheaths off - known as Turbo something-or-other, then put them back on and sent me for another X-ray. Could I, I said, wash my hand while the plastic was off? No, apparently this was not possible. It would only make my fingers itch. Bollox would it. I pointed out (ha! Not easy with dislocated fingers) that I was currently unable to go swimming (and it is warm here), or cycling, or play my guitar. Essentially, I can't do anything that makes life worth living. Nor can I ride my Ducati or even touch type (it's taking me an age to type this). It appears that I have another 2 to 3 weeks of this rubbish. This evening, I thought "Bollox to that". I will try out the swimming and see what happens. Can't see why I can't give cycling a go, and I will put the time to learning slide guitar which I have always wanted to learn. Only need a slide on my undamaged pinkie for that. Bah!
He did say he had trouble due to the race offsets with the front wheel hitting the engine. Great bit of engineering to stop that!

Hired bicycles from the campsite and cycled in to Bilbao. On the way back I forgot they have the brakes on the other side. So the massive broadside I tried to impress my wife ended up with me in hospital. Concussion and gravel rash from head to toe. Not the best start to our trip. On the up side, San Miguel is helping out!
