Termignoni 57mm Fitting Instructions

  1. Hi guys back from travels and here is a pic of the exhaust touching the shoulder of the grey cast swingarm. The black crayon marks are where I estimate it needs flattening. That said, am still a bit tremulous about whacking a £800 stainless stystem when a replacement swingarm is costing about less than $150 on ebay and the R-type black box section upgrade about $400 (am guessing that's because usual front end smashes rarely hurt the swingarm).
So again, should I just live with the rubbing especially as when the rear shock is loaded it will probably clear the swingarm? 2004999S.jpg

  3. Hi Swali999 and thanks very much for the kit instructions which would have saved an awful lot of grief finding out what to strip away (ie breather and oil cooler) when I was fitting the exhaust. Sadly I can't see anything there I haven't done and note that the bend outwards away from the bike on the Y pipe looks more pronounced than the pipe I've fitted. Is it possible this pipe is for the black swingarm and not my grey cast one?

  4. No problem providing the instructions. Not sure exactly what you have.I guess there are so many variations for grey ,black, stnd sump, deep sump. My Ducati Tech. is having a similar challenge fitting my 54mm full system to a black swing arm as he reckons there are even variations of black swingarm ! Hopefully get it resolved soon.Listen good luck and I'll drop a post when completed.

  5. Hi guys, just a quick update, Termi now fully fitted although not sure this pic shows that it now misses the swing arm by a hair's breadth but works fine and sounds lovely! Now it's just wrapping and heat shield to protect fairing from the bigger pipe and fabricating a new rear right hand fairing bracket too. Cheers for all your help and advice.

  6. I think mine is closer than that!

  7. Good job PM999S.
If a midgey can fit his dick through that gap it should be enough.
    Enjoy the sound :upyeah:

  8. try without cement?
even loose joints have never cause me a noticeable problem, better for repair, and some joint need to seperate to allow disassembly? how would you get it apart?
If you required to disassemble? another solution is getting an exhaust shop to use expander to swage the loose male end untill a good fit is obtained; make sure springs are fitted tight? not stretched

  9. Hi Pete,
Thanks although I've finished work on the fitting (including making a new rear fairing bracket extender and wrapping parts of it to save the fairing). The trick to make the fit was using a wooden spacer againt the swing arm before tightening everything up. BTW here's a pick of the bike getting new belts and valve check with the fantastic guys as Ducati ProTeam in Rochester, Kent. For UK owners in the London area, there is no-one better value and professional while friendly too! Whole job kept to original quote of just £388.80 - around half some of the other crazy quotes I got. Won't use anyone else in future!
