What noisy screen? Wear an Aria RX7, all screens are noisy lol. Can't say my Pikes Peak suffers wind noise below 80mph so from a legal touring speed its fine. Its not got a sports bike faring so will never be as quiet as a sports bike at triple figures, I've test rode the GS,KTM Adventure and at high speeds they are as noisy as the Pikes Peak. So definitely back to the positive outlook peeps.
I used to wear the black visors as a youth but as a wise old goat the reactolight visor allows me the double glazing and both dark and light visor in one, just not as stylish as the dark tint though as when its not sunny its clear or only slightly tinted, but they are very expensive compared to the fixed tint pinlocks. You pays yer money yer takes yer choice. I use a dark visor on track days though. Just check that the visors are road legal though as some insurance companies have been known to not pay out after a collision and the visor discovered to be for track use only. Be careful what you wear folks.
When using a short screen (the front screen on it's own) the wind noise will kick in as soon as I'm over 40 mph. With my twin screen option I have no buffeting and virtually no wind noise at all, the dog definitely prefers the twin screen option as well ...... I originally had a Schuberth C3, supposedly the quietist helmet available and the wind noise with that with a low screen was pretty poor (still trying to be positive). I too now ride with an Arai Tour-X 4 but did have to fiddle with the coulouring to make it a little unique Sorry about the bin in the pictures, very amateurish !
I've gone for the HPS screen. I tried the Ducati Gran Tourismo, which was definitely an improvement on the stock screen below 60mph. After that, well I'm not convinced. I've now got the HPS screen on the bike, and so far I'm very pleased, it definitely cuts out some of the body buffeting. I think its quieter over 70 too, but its just a subjective opinion. I've tried the Arai - looks the bollocks, but boy is it noisy. I have red and white one in small if anyone fancies buying it at a discount (its been used about 10 times) - I moved to a Shoei Neotec which is definitely quieter from my perspective. But it all depends on you height etc - what works for one person won't necessarily work for someone else who is slightly taller or shorter when sitting.
Yes I was surprised too and I didn't find out until I'd bought it! Lol, I can't see why we are allowed to wear sunglasses to drive and ride but the secondary sun screen pinlock is not for highway use? crazy as it makes us safer!!!!! AS WE CAN SEE BETTER MR GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL ! Speaking to a solicitor mate though, the secondary pinlock isn't actually a visor and so could be classed as an accessory to mitigate the fact it has stamped on it 'track only', still, makes you think though!!!
Yes, sorry the MRA screen. It is about the same height as the standard screen but is slightly wider lower down than both the Ducati screens. It also sits slightly further forward and has an adjustable deflector at the top.
11,500 on mine - touch wood not a single problem at all. Pure bliss. Odd recalls but every manufacturer gets those so not fussed by that. Hardly ever needed to top up oil, once, maybe twice a small amount but that's it. More than half those miles done on big tours to Europe two up fully loaded and never put a foot wrong. Handles brilliant all the weight added. I've just turned to Angel GT and they are great for spirited riding and handle great two up. Great bike

i picked my shiney new 2017 multi up last month and its been brilliant, i ran it in, in the lake district with her ladyship aboard who also loved it I'm amazed at what it can do, i genuinely feel i can ride the multi faster than i can my 899 or blade, it just covers ground effortlessly, not he odd occasion i look down at the beautiful dash, i find I'm going quite a bit quicker than i thought i originally bought it for our 3 week euro trip on august / september this year, and I'm slowly buying it bits to get it ready for me to spend 3 weeks sat on it. Today i fitted my Givi touring screen, good lord its big, its like a bay window, I'm just waiting for my alpinestars curtains to arrive now its taller in the low position than the stock screen in in the highest position, i might even need to put the seat raisers in so i can raise the screen up a tad, ill get a photo uploaded tomorrow. like a few others have said, i look for any excuse to get out on it rather than waiting for some nice weather, its great fun riding it in the rain, and it gets the bugs off the front too
I've just done 1,000 miles in two weeks on my new Pikes Peak and its fabulous. I had a BMW RT1200 watercooled LE for two years before that, a K1600 LE before that and an MTS 1200 (2011 plate) before that. The PP blows all of them away and believe me the RT1200 was a damn great bike that flew through corners and rode much lighter than it looked. I smiled a lot with the MTS 1200, lost the smile with the K1600 (nightmare under 5mph as so heavy). The RT brought back the smile (but no soul, if I'm honest). PP = wide smiles and lots of soul. A design icon and engineering masterpiece. Expensive yes but I now want to keep this for a good while. DVT engine and Ohlins a BIG improvement over the 2011 MTS! I'm happy and no problems so far.

Hi Wayne58, yes indeed he pretty much goes everywhere with me/us and has done on the previous bikes as well. The tank bag is a Givi jobby, 308 I think. It has a wooden liner for rigidity and then a formed 4mm plastic lid which slides into the map holder pocket. He's very much the centre of attention wherever we go and had a small crowd taking pictures last weekend at Loomies as we went to leave. He is only a Yorkshire terrier, anything larger won't fit on a Mutley
