Morning all, I currently use an Oris Aquis Date as my everyday wear anywhere watch, and it is bomb proof and very scratch resistant. One of the best watches I've had for reliability and its rugged dependability. I work in the oil industry and have been using it for near 4 years and it still looks unmarked regardless of the beating its took, so I have no intention of changing it as my work watch. However, I have a little spare money at the moment and am considering something a little higher end for out of work times. My shortlist is this Rolex Sea dweller Panerai Luminor Omega Planet ocean Breitling Superocean Does anyone own, or have experience with the above list, and which would you choose and why ? The only one I have owned before is Omega so am a little in the dark with regard to the others. I am of course, open to other suggestions, but the above is a short list following a little research. Any help or advice much appreciated.
Just my opinion, the Rolex is old hat and the Panerai is unattractive but the Breitlinger Superocean chronograph in the blue looks stunning if a bit big. I'm a huge fan of Omega and the smaller 43.3mm version of the Planet Ocean is really discreet. Nice position to be in, sadly my Seamaster 15007 Gauss is my last acquisition for a loooong while. Andy
Not much use to the OP but for others less well-heeled tuning in to this thread, I can recommend the Citizen Eco Drive CB0020-50E It is solar powered, radio controlled and 200m water resistant. I've had mine for 2 years and it's still unmarked as it has a sapphire crystal glass. It's very smart, easy to read and easy to adjust for different time zones. No batteries to change, always exact time, self adjusting for GMT and BST. What more could you want??
I own a Rolex Sea Dweller 4000, bought it last August. Absolutly love it, beautiful quality, no regrets buying it. Certainly not "Old hat" and in my opinion still the number 1 for sports watches.

That's the one and a lot of soul searching went into that purchase. I was lucky to find one locally at a very competitive price and I've no regrets whatsoever, it's an absolutely stunning watch both in looks and performance. Andy
omega all the way for me always understated and very classy. i have a solar impulse speedmaster myself.
Another one for omega, in a recent bike off, smashed mine in to the ground so hard it almost broke my wrist! Not a scratch on my seamaster
I also own a omega seamaster professional with the coaxial movement. Great everyday watch, solidly built and a tough bit of kit. I have recently been contemplating with upgrading to something a bit more special. Will still keep my omega though for everyday use. Got my eyes on one of these little beauties at the moment....either the panerai with the blue hands or the one in the last image.... Hmmmmmm
Your Seamaster is nicer than the others. But then again Im a Seamaster fan. Dont like Panerai's. Too clumpy. Plus that crown thing will dig on the back of yer hand. Meh, to them. I'll stick to my ancient manual wind up but I'd quite like a Seamaster Chrono if I had to get a new watch.
id bin the watch idea and put the money towards a set of bst wheels for my bike!! my bike has a clock on it so dont need a watch.
