British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. That would be the result of inexperience.

I refuse to believe that funm finm is actually fool finm.

  2. I think he's got the Monday morning grumps again

  4. aye, you canny beat the green green GRASS of home eh?

  5. Brexit is a gift that just keeps on giving.

  6. So just to be clear, this proposed scheme, the eu doesn't have it either, but it's just a proposal and we currently have a higher rate of recycling than France?

  7. Why do so many people always assume that the EU has been a civilising influence on the UK and without our membership we'd still be troglodytes?
More often than not it has been the other way round with the UK was the initiator of many EU standards which brought Europe up to our level.

  8. The European Convention on Human Rights and the Council of Europe were indeed initiated by the UK in order to raise standards in Europe after WW2, and have been highly successful.

This contrasts with the EU, in the creation of which the UK was not involved. Sadly, the UK's role has always been to delay, to obstruct, and to opt out of improvements.

  9. It's because the pro eu brigade seem to want nothing more than denounce the UK and everyone in it that voted leave as backwards thinking xenophobes.

Of course the Eurocrats sitting in Brussels are in fact shining white Knights of hope, working for the common man

  10. It's as if BSI and ISO would never have existed without the EU

  11. Wasn't sure whether to discuss this here or in the general election thread.

Just treat yourself and have a read through the comments section.

As I always thought, the ambiguous nature of JC's position on Brexit whilst at the same time waving the notion of debt clearance for students (amongst other policy) seems to have worked perfectly as a distraction.

Now it seems there's a new outpouring of angst towards Corbyn because 'he's not voting to stop Brexit '

    The mind boggles

  12. For the sake of balance and in the name of fairness, I believe you should have posted this in the Indy2 thread.

  13. Ah yes, the indy2 thread.

My sincere apologies gents, I must confess it's hard to keep up with the political threads nowadays as most seem to end up with arguments about Scottish independence

  14. As if Scotland are ever gonna be independent from the UK..... no matter how much the few Scots that want it moan it'll never happen lol

that should just feed certain people enough for a bite! :bucktooth::laughing::laughing::laughing:

  15. Well, not Finm, as he's not actually Scottish :)

  16. How dim and these people? Don't they understand that the best way to ensure that there is no deal is to declare in advance that we wouldn't leave without one? If such a stance was set out in advance in the Queen's speech the Government would be entering negotiations in exactly the same position as David Cameron did with his so-called renegotiations - ie. with total failure guaranteed. How the fuck did these people ever get themselves on a ballot paper for elected office?
