anyone eagle eyed on here was keeping an eye on this one? http://www.thebikespecialists.com/ducati-1198-r-corse-rare-investment-opportunity-5651974 Just want to know how much it was up for, anyone knows?
Think it was motioned on here - Ebay Bikes, but can't remember how much it was. Not necessarily sold - a lot of bikes they have go back to the owners unsold.
found it. looks like it was up for £34K strange as same company offered me 15£k for the same bike when i contacted them just to value it for insurance...
They sound like robbers at 34k There is one in Italia in Lincoln for just under 15k with 7 K miles an identical 848 next to it
IIRC, there were only 3 1198 R Corse SEs registered in the UK making it probably one of the rarest Ducatis of the modern era. Can't find the UK price but it was $40,000 in the States. Andy
I'm confused, sorry. Is the Corse SE the 1198s engine and the Corse R the 1098r engine? So 170 bhp and 192 bhp respectively?
Slightly down on the 1098R with 180bhp and 99 torque thingys, better traction control but essentially very similar. Andy
Big question: is it an R though? From specs above by Andy, looks more like a S with a bit of parts-bin thrown in. Otherwise, how can it be lower powdered than the earlier R?
it is a proper R. and should be same power as 1098r @ 180hp. + few other tric bits . so it is not down on power
My mistake, only looked at the 1198 and did the 1098 from memory. With identical OE exhausts, the power output of both bikes is identical. The 185bhp refers to the race end can and the higher figures are for the full 70mm race system with overwritten ecu. Apologies for confusing the issue. Andy
i can tell this having ridden both: 1198r is deffo louder and both are handfull and with a lot of power at touch of a throttle. feels like a LOT more power compare to my 1199s
