Pulled my finger out and have listed the R1 on eBay tonight. Link here... Start price of £1,500 with no reserve. Anyone planting £3,200 in my hand can take it off early, otherwise ends 20:00 on Sunday night. MOT expires 27/7. If anyone from here buys it then I'll put 12 months on to simplify and reassure.
Stick an MOT on it , i never did understand people saying "it needs an MOT , it'll fly through " . It looks a really nice bike , someone's going to have a beaut ! I've stuck a link to the eBay add on www.yamahar.co.uk for you . GLWS
Cheers Jompy, it's entirely likely it'll get an MOT. I just wanted to get it listed and didn't have the time to take it today. Quite likely it'll get done but gives someone the chance to knock £30 off the price or demand I get it tested. Either way, not a hassle.
I had a blue one back in 2000 and loved it. It used to shake and skip its front wheel of the tarmac under power like a wild thing!!!!!!
You see that Harris bracket and Ohlins steering damper?... She gets a bit excitable when you snap the throttle open, so 8 clicks on the Ohlins just keeps everyone calm, everyone happy.
Managed to get her MOT'd today, so ticket now expires 26th July 2018. Clean bill of health with an advisory that tyre is getting close to wear limit at rear. @jompy pet peeve remedied now
Ah good. An expert. You're *very* clever! As mentioned, now with 12 months test... so the point of your comment is...?
They're mega. They are super usable, pillion even quite likes it, looks nice, sounds sexy and when you pull the pin they're one of the most bonkers carb-era inline fours out there, wild but never too out there for mere mortals. A flattering ride... but seemingly unsellable. Weird.
What did it get to on eBay? Am guessing many may be put off by carbs unless collector/nostalgia led decision
Not a single bid... nuts. First listing I had it with a starting bid of £2750 and then £2500. It's going nowhere for less than £2850 though, as it's worth more than that to me.
