I am that's why I ride bikes. Lol I've had one ambition ever since the McLaren f1 was made and that is to crack 200mph. I will do it one day and know it won't feel much different to 186 but it's just not a big milestone to me.
erm...not me. I started a thread about the fact I rode my first sportsbike on the road for a while today, and how it went, and how it reminded me that the multi is so much of everything...except track. And that I bought it for the track, and need more practice again... No toys nor dummies were hurt over here.
Just came back after having a blast on my R1 on shity bumpy, busy roads down in Kent...I am really thinking to sell all my road going sport bikes. The 998sFE will certainly stay I am seriously thinking to limit my riding to race track and enduro. WTF is the point to ride with 70mph* at 40mph limit and still being miles away from what the bike could do in that bend? Not to mention the drivers pulling out in front. * risking a high fine and points =insurance premium going up. Thinking back the bike I most enjoyed on the road it was my old drz400 sm
I'd rather be in charge of a machine going at a high rate of knots. It's the scenery around you that creates the feeling of speed. Always loved that. My mam must of flown around with me in a pram or summit. Lol
Saying about the sports bike thing I quite often ride my 1198/r1/gsxr 1000 but today I rode my little 1998 carbed cbr 600 round mallory at the bike bonanza and it was a total joy, great fun I'm seriously thinking of selling um all and buy something like the new r6. Do we really all need 170bhp + for the road??
I love my multi but I will often hit rev limiter on road and often be full throttle for short periods, I never hit rev limiter on my fireblade except on track and the acceleration to me from 10k plus seems brutal compared to my multi. And I'll never forget following instructor on track thinking I was Rossi and he was so much faster on a 600 . The rider and what he does with his right wrist is everything but IMHO the sportbike for fast riding wins every time but for an all round bike the multi wins . Almost like it was designed to be jack of all trades master of none
I got 63bhp ok I'm not on the road properly as yet but my rvf will get into the 130 mph mark and it's quick and handles, I know for a fact if I had the electronic data logging on it would rarely register full throttle or near full throttle, bikes are quick and barely useable to anywhere near their potential, so the argument of where can you use a bike properly is valid, nice to own the latest fastest etc, I had blades and used to think about the ride I'd had and I'd be like I've only used a fraction of throttle and still I was going too fast, I like the little bikes keep having to work them keep em singing but hey you'll still be going too fast...can't win, as said enduro type stuff makes a lot of sense.
