I've been watching them for a while as I have an option on my mates for around £7k and I'm wondering whether to snap his hand off. The bike linked above looks really clean but when you get to that sort of money it needs to be original and it looks to have the wrong seat unit on it. If it's a slabby it should have the seat unit with the carbon flashes, if it's a vented fairing (2 piece) it should have the one that says 748r on it as far as I have been able to tell fom looking at them all. I'm currently not sure what to do as the prices seem to range between £7k and 10k but that's what they are all at least being advertised at.
Advertised is the operative word here. Seen a lot being advertised but not sold because they reappear a few weeks later. Given the pedigree of your mate's bike, if you truly want to live with a 748R, do as you say, bite his hand off. Andy
Honestly, probably for another thread but I genuinely don't know what to do, I think they are worth more than standard 748s' and clean ones are £4500-5k (again advertised) but not sure how much... I will keep watching them and see whether they get relisted.
Pricey... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ducati-1098r-/182661558314?hash=item2a877a302a:g:RLwAAOSwfIxZY4Jt
"I consider this bike as the best example of the Ducati 1098R probably in the world!" He doesn't get out much, does he?
£25k! People just seem to be plucking numbers out of thin air at the moment! And there seems to be those with more money than sense that'll pay it! I suppose if you look at how the prices of the 998R etc have shot up, the 1098R may get there one day but I think this seller is trying to eat his cake before he's even made it.

This RD250LC went up for sale yesterday on the RDLC Crazy Forum "I have an RD250LC 4L1 UK matching number bike for sale. I did advertise this before half heartedly but need space and money to put into new projects now. It's had a full nut and bolt rebuild. Engine has had a rebuilt crank, re bore, all seals and all fixings re plated or renewed. The frame and everything black has been powder coated. All fixings re plated or renewed. I've just had the oil pump serviced by Arrow as well. New front disc. Seat is still original. Paintwork has a few very small marks but was too good to re paint. Has an MOT until March 2018. Nice number plate. Based just south of Bristol. £4999. Cheers I'm trying Flickr so if you can't see any images or want more info then PM me."
LOL wankers. Hate this kind of stuff. Its no different to those who bulk buy tickets for concerts then try and double their price. Hope they don't get anything back for a year, its sits there until their invest cost overtakes whatever they get extra for selling it.
