The first I think, the second is hardly worth the effort / risk. But I have often wondered what the range of a modern camera van is. There is no reason why it can't be that if you have seen it, they have seen you, and it is already too late, but is that really the case ?? Does anyone know ?
I think it's pretty long and can be as soon as you see them, they've got you. Allegedly, sometimes you never do see them because they are hidden well off the road. However, I did get away with doing a gps indicated 83 recently on a dual carriageway. As I crested a hill, I saw something that could have been a camera van but was too far away to be sure. I didn't brake hard but just touched the brakes to slacken speed. Then I realised it was a camera van and felt gutted I hadn't reacted more aggressively. I passed the van at 60 or so. I expected a letter but never got one, it was raining so maybe that interfered with range of the equipment.
Fucking police, how about you find who stole my bike and who burgled my house and who stole the dust caps off my girl's car.
Dust caps...? Fuck me, that's a new kind of low. How much are they worth? Or is it that they're running so low from popping caps in people's asses that they needed 4 more?
They got stolen and replaced and then stolen again. Worth a few quid. I think it's just people thinking 'I'll have those thanks' rather than cause they're worth anything.
I I second that...in fact i go one better...a few years ago got pulled bang to right with a noisy pipe and a strip plate on my rsv4....copper started off with the angle that i was knicked, i was totally polite and apologetic from the word go, he softened up, made a joke which i openly laughed at, then he made a few more (laughed at those) carried on apologising and got away with it scott free. Waited for him to go and then dumped the clutch...
If its a revenue camera - which it probably was - then fair play. I assume he took his lid off to remove a neck warmer to put over the plate. These camera vans are usually parked semi-legally on totally safe stretches of road just to rack up fortune on fines - nothing to do with road safety.
Stupidly, I too had thought neck warmer but hadn't associated that with him taking his helmet off. Why's the facepalm only a reaction and not an emoji
Would it not have just been easier to pass the camera van at the legal limit then give it the beans Ah I get it now, the van had got him already.......He took his helmet off.......what a dingbat
Incidentally this subject has been covered in this thread - https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threa...ride-outs-and-meets.48986/page-19#post-948972
So, if someone owns up to knowing him on a forum or anywhere else, are they also at risk of perverting the course or harbouring a criminal if they don't spill who it is?
God knows why he took his lid off! This whole thing pisses me off, the police spend so much time and resources trying to catch speeding motorists but don't want to know about seemingly most other crimes then wonder why everyone thinks they're cunts. They're just after revenue. It's a sick joke.
Obviously going after burglars, rapist, terrorist, thiefs, is dangerous stuff, way easier to spend a fortune on catching naughty bikers
Trying to take his neck warmer off with his helmet still on would have been a more entertaining video.
