Aye up all, I'm new here and relatively new to Ducati ownership. I was out last night with the boys and following a move that looked nothing at all like a rolling stoppie one of my friends picked something up off the floor near the bike and said he thought it had come off the bike. I've only owned the bike for a matter of months and I don't know the old girl intimately enough to know whether something I should be worried about has been dislodged. Hopefully below should be some pics of the above mentioned debris, does this look familiar to any of you? Many thanks for your deliberations!!! Cheers D
It's very familiar but I can't place it. Is the hole hex shaped? Can you put it next to a 50p and take another picture.
I am thinking a locating pin for the sky lift or one of the con stands to stop bike pivoting as you lift.
Haha, perhaps I can find more random road debris for your delectation! I am a fatboy like so the back wheel would have returned to earth with gravity plus a few more pies........ The bike is a 1993 900ss
Flux capacitor......... ? Apologies? No help whatsoever but breing in Edinburgh for the day does that to a chap!
Hi, I've got a 93 900ss and I have previously stripped it down and completey rebuilt it. I'm pretty sure it's not from your bike. I
Looks like a locator pin, whereby a rubber grommet slides over the head. The radiator has one of those as does a battery tray. Have a butchers round that area. Not corroded enough for a brake pad pin.
I'd have a check of your cush drive rubbers/bolts and the rear sprocket area.....Does look very familiar.....
Front axle bolt head, unlikely, swingarm bolt head, possible, engine frame mount bolt ??? hmmm, naughty.
this sort of thing that holds a car brake caliper on to the vehicle but allows it to move along the pin axis to centre the pads.
Hmmmmmm, We have a winner!!!! Hells teeth it's only a bleeding cush drive pin innit!!! Upon inspection through the opposite side of the wheel I can clearly see the snapped off remains!!! My friend (Tater on here) said this was a good forum and he's absolutley right! Your efforts at the guessing game might have saved me from something scarey indeed. The chain looks original and like it came off a raleigh shopper! If the remains of the pin and the nut holding it on spun off and into the chain it could have snapped the chain with predictably nasty results. Many thanks to all the contestants who took part in quiz!! Cheers D
