According to my Garmin 660 my DVT's speedo is true Italian. Speedo shows 78 mph while the sat nav shows 70mph, is that why Italian bikes are always so fast?
Explains why Wayne thinks his does 165 LOL Most are out a bit. Mine at 80 speedo is about 74 on satnav. I suspect my gixer is the other way: 13k revs in top 132 mph....
78 and 70 sounds way off, I think at 70 on my Garmin, I am 74 indicated on my Dvt speedo but will try tomorrow and post up
That's why everyone is able to sit in average cameras, doing 55-57mph. They give a percentage and your speedo bungs on loads. They culminate to give a nice buffer.
OK, just been out for day, and got piss wet through, but here's my findings using cruise to maintain the speed and using a Garmin 390LM. Speedo 30mph Garmin 29mph. Speedo 40mph Garmin 38mph Speedo 60mph Garmin 58mph Speedo 80mph Garmin 76mph Speedo 100mph Garmin 96mph And the one you mention Garmin 70mph speedo 73-74mph as it flicked between. So I reckon 70 and 78 means either your speedo or your Garmin are a bit out?? Or your gearing is different due to sprocket size??
Would t surprise me, or maybe a Honda as it's been so reliable Imagine how fast mine would be if it actually had some power Not that I notice, too busy rolling around in top wearing a Polite vest and taking it very easy
Wayne I hope you didn't get soaked just to check speedo calibration my comments were made tongue in cheek regarding Italian pride in their product, I know the speedo reads fast but my figure of 78 was plucked from thin air in my warm dry lounge, most speedos read about 5% fast so that you can't sue the manufacturer when you get nicked for speeding. Hope you have dried out now, I owe you a cup of tea if i see you at a cafe!
Ha ha, no mate, was out on bike all day anyway and just got caught at the end in a large bout of rain, but still..... I'll have that cuppa. One sugar mate cheers. PS, Couple of months back, was on a closed runway in Norfolk and 147 indicated was 139 on nav, that was flat out in 4th
A bit like having kids. There is so much to worry about anyway, so why concern yourself with a measly one more
