Just thought I'd post some pics of my latest tinkering. Modded rear footrest hangers (No footrests!) and the cut, re-welded centre stand (shortened operating arm) Couldn't stand the rear pegs so bought pair of rear hangers (O/side lightly scuffed), cut them, then ground flattish, then powder coated along with the stand. £60 all in. Will show what they look like on bike later.. Cheers.!...
There is a few more bits on my enduro I want powder coated this year. The center-stand is on the must do list of requiring a proper layer of paint.
Was on,y thinking today about how mashed my stand looks and how it needs painting or coating. Especially if I'm going to flog it soon
More pics of hangers with case mounts too... I also had a spare Givi quick release ring and mounted it onto my rack plate so I can attach tank bag as a tail pack. .
I have two. So why not.? Tank bag contains docs and charging hub. Rear carries cable lock for helmet, jacket and anything else I want to put in it. Also when on the back doesn't interfere when refuelling. Not as bulky as a top box (which I use if touring)
Do you mean the heat shield? If so it's the standard colour but if referring to the paint on the main exhaust then that is just heat resistant paint (matt black)
Just curious , but if you don't need rear footrests - why have hangers Do they serve another purpose ?
When the panniers are mounted, and I don't intend having a rear passenger, having the footrests removed leaves more room for my boots. I tend to ride with the front portion of my foot on the footpeg so I find my heels contacting the rear footrest hanger. Fussy sod me..!
