My battery was finally packed in. Charges to 11.3v then collapses to 6V when load applied. Won't start the bike obviously. So what's everyone fitting?? OEM? Odyssey? Also I have an optimate trickle charger.. can I charge lithium batteries??
I have a shido lithium battery and it's very good and a lot lighter than standard Only time it's been an issue was when bike was in van all night and was cold starting at donington it took a few turns to fire up. I don't leave it on a trickle charger or anything they hold Their charge well but I don't have an alarm or tracker
Some 1299's come with a lithium battery as standard and Ducati sell them as a accessory so i would say the Panigale is compatible.
If it's a genuine Ducati accessory? then Yes it sounds like they have designed a more intelligent charge circuit. It's not rocket science. I think the problem with electricity is that people can't see it, only it's effects. A component buried deep in the engine or beneath a plethora of covers getting too hot isn't seen until it fails or causes something else to fail.
Ok so mixed replies here. Seems theres a few running Lithium batteries without issue but AirCons posts concern me. Can you tell me what bike the thermal incident took place on?
Or the one in the Reg Rec manufacturers info was a Paul Smart Rep Ducati - take note the company who make after market R/R say don't fit, it's not just AC's opinion.
