British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. in the current set up yes. tho paranoia aint coming in to it unless yer away to tell me that your area, south west? is well served by the uk government. go on, give it yer best shot. brw, if I chose to we could examine and expose the attainment, emplyment, drink and drug issues of the south west. but i aint you my haggis (remember that?) hating bobba.

  2. Fin have ya had a bump on the heed agin? South West? You know I live in Essex. I did tell you that smoking that moss stuff would confuddle your swede.

You argument fails because you seek to divide by sillyness and I'll show you why. Birmingham is a huge local authority area, the largest in the country, so it isn't surprising that there are considerable zones of deprivation. However areas such as Harborne, Edgbaston or Moseley Village are far from deprived. In my home county one of it's richest areas is Epping but we also have in the same county, Jaywick on sea. Surprisingly despite people thinking London is paved with gold, some boroughs even within London are some of the poorest and deprived in the U.K

You will find these disparities all over the U.K. and most in countries but as a leaving example Shawlands in Glasgow was voted one of the best places to live in Scotland but yet within a stones throw as you know is Govan Hill which wasn't voted positively in most things, let alone living there

So to say large areas such as south west, midlands etc are all poor and less well off/educated/funded would be quite incorrect/vague and are often used for opportunistic political games than accuracy.

  3. The way i see it is that whilst the EU subsidised projects are good in one respect, allowing some noble and well thought out projects to get off the ground or even continue, they are purely a kickback from payments made by us all anyway (All of the UK tax payers) and therefore just an alternative way of our taxes being spent, just with less of a say on how they're spent for the nation.

That may be rather simplistic, but why make it anymore complicated.

To suggest all subsidies will stop is nonsense, and yet I'm sure 'some' will and probably quite rightly. In my opinion that money, whether £350m specifically for the NHS or not, should go towards things that benefit the many, not the few (to coin a phrase from our favourite bearded messiah)

Yes £350m for the NHS alone was always cod shit, but wouldn't people rather at least have £Xm extra which could be used towards more widespread uses such as the NHS, road/rail network, subsidised childcare, homeless shelters, Help to buy, and so on?

Like i say, its not about simply cutting off all existing projects, but lets be honest, i bet theres quite a few where the money could have been spent more wisely and on things that are actually needed to improve quality of life for British citizens

    https://www.gov.uk/guidance/erdf-programmes-progress-and-achievements#projects-funded-by-erdf

Here's a basic example from my favourite hypocritical online news source

    https://www.theguardian.com/society...ess-expected-double-2041-charity-crisis-warns

It will need money to be spent on affordable housing (for UK residents), assistance in helping people to buy property, childcare cost support for those with children and wanting to get back to full time working life, money to be spent on social housing and so on.

Surely given the option, wouldn't even the far left agree that the money being allocated to some of these EU projects is better spent on more pressing issues like this

  4. hows the hangover?.noob.
can i let you in to a little secret? not everything is about you noob. could there of been any chance i was referring to other places in this uUK?
as you well know, seeing as you regularly like to quote them when it suits yer needs the division comes from the way the uk finances are recorded and in particular GERS and Barrnet. i cant believe you are that poorly informed, so i guess your motives for this constant harking back to bollox is anything less than sinister.
GERS was first published in 1992 under the then Conservative Party Government of Prime Minister John Major. It was published then by the Conservative's Scottish Secretary, Ian Lang. In a leaked memo from Lang to Major he stated the purpose of GERS was to "undermine" the UK government's rivals.[3][4]
    how very tory of them.
25 out of the 26 pieces of data are estimates, since these figures have been published (other methods where used previously) various media outlets and political party's, mostly of the right but as we seen over the last 10years up here the "left" wing troughers will happily use those figures to set one against the other too.
its quite telling when even on a bike forum, that loves to talk politics, if any form of dissent or criticism of wealth distribution or right wing governments in the uk meets with, your all a bunch of ungrateful scrounging cvnts. why aren't you grateful?. while totally ignoring who is actually doing the troughing and shafting. buuuut in yer defense, i know most that do the crawing are programmed that way,

apply the same criteria and methods to the other parts of the uk, how are they fairing? why do they need so much support from the EU? why are those areas so poorly represented by the big two partys?.
man, what a fud you are to believe that come march 2019 things will be run any differently and any less beneficial to those skimming off the top already.

  5. Its all well and good saying that the UK could spend the money how it wants rather than the EU make the decision but the plain fact is that even this Government accepts that this country will have less money to spend as its income will fall after Brexit.

The world wont survive for very long unless we all co-operate as Nations and work together rather than taking the attitude 'fuck everyone else'. Nationality only defines your region of birth but ultimately we all need to live on this planet together and it would only take one Nation to ruin that for everyone (North Korea?). If we don't work as one then the future of the planet is probably quite short indeed.

  6. This did make me chuckle, see the forums mr angry now saying we should all hold hands and sing kumbai ya

The money comment, all countries have rises and dips financially, there was no brexit in 2007/08 and that was at a time we were in the eu. Most brexiteers understand long term economics and we understood that uncertainty (which effects most financial markets) during the two year negotiations would see a relatively small dip but that was worth paying for the long term independence. The remoaners said we would fall off a cliff and it hasn't happened. In it's simplest terms we can look beyond the next 2 years of which many economists have said we will suffer a short term dip but still retain growth but the long term economic outlook for the U.K. is good.

Getting on as you put it, the idea that we have to belong to the eu to get on with others is nonsense. It's almost like the remoaners had joined a sect and when they saw the bigger outside world, their leaders threatened to ex communicate their followers for even daring to look through the looking glass.

There is a huge world outside the eu, huge. Even the eu are saying we will still trade and get on after brexit in one shape or form

  7. Fin, you said I was in the south west I told you I wasn't and you see that as me making about me rather than you got it wrong, your snp, saying your wrong is hard I get that

As to the rest of that post, dude give it up, honestly trying to make every single thread about snp independence makes you look silly and to be honest, no one gives a shit anymore, even most snp supporters are switching off. This is the eu/brexit thread, all your gers and john major and 300 years of hurt is just boring the tits of most people, even your leader doesn't talk about it anymore, even your favourite blog , wings over summerzet aint talking about it anymore and even the national aint talking about it anymore.

  8. We must remember Noob that the EU is an imperialist construct and Europhiles have an essentially imperialist mindset, even if they don't realise it. The EU sees the Brexit negotiations (that is, the Eurocrats, not business leaders who have to live in the real world) not as a discussion on terms of trade but as a custody battle for the UK's sovereignty. They see our country as an imperial possession over which they have moral right of ownership. Europhiles, having swallowed hook, line and sinker the canard that Europhilia somehow represents a superior moral code to national democracy have convinced themselves that they are saving Britain from itself when in fact the reverse is the case and they are colluding in the overthrow of democracy by an unelected politburo. So deep have they sunk into this delusion that they've forgotten that the EU represents only 8% of the world's population and less that 25% of global economic output, yet 92% of the planet is not a member of the EU and managing perfectly well without it and the EU's share of global trade is falling and the only continent on Earth with lower growth is Antarctica.
Its hard to make headway against such blind stupidity but top marks for trying.

  9. Honestly sometimes, you would believe that some remoaners behave like a jovi leaving the jehova's.

  10. Yeh, blind stupidity :):upyeah:

  11. prattle prattle give the child a rattle.
    please.

  12. Where is anyone on here saying that we shouldn't cooperate with other nations? I think you'll find plenty of abuse levelled at various foreign politicians, but nothing said about no cooperation or future trade with other nations, frankly you'll find the opposite.

Please find attached link for a few small examples of how the UK's 'cooperation' extends way over and above the 'EU single market', and will continue to do so far more than many of the other EU members.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_relations_of_the_United_Kingdom

Whether you want to like it or not, the UK is an extremely outgoing and cooperative country, just because you voted to remain in the EU and the UK is leaving that doesn't make our country automatically shit and those remaining in the club morally superior.

    That's just garbage

  13. For some it's like leaving a very expensive golf club

The committee keep telling you unless you stay and keep paying then you will never play golf again, anywhere and that by choosing to leave you become a little Englander. You then ask them, by leaving I can play anywhere in the world at any course and if people want to come to our golf courses that their application will be dealt with equally no matter where they come from.

The eu project is little more than a large masonic lodge with a big wall separating itself from other countries unless they become a mason too, and that is what they are telling people, is freedom.

  14. The rhetoric of ducks like Fox, Johnson and that cock Farage suggests otherwise

  15. ha. Fox, the minister for Adam Werritty. these are the people you want to put yer trust in when it comes doing the right thing for everybody? suckers. *falling down laughing thingy*

  16. Fox who came very close to being prosecuted for fraudulent use of public funds. Paying his best man from public funds. £19000 for mobile phone bills. 3p for a 100 metre car journey. Yep let's put our trust in the likes of him.

  17. Fair points, the biggest worry for those in favour of Brexit once the democratic vote had said let's leave, was those in government who had spent more time in business than government, selling us out. I would imagine there is some infighting to those who believe in the democratic vote and democracy is sacrosanct and those who after leaving politics will go to the very same companies who thought the people and the peoples democracy doesn't mean shit.

Of those people, they are a few but not the majority, in some ways they are representing the remainers. The funny thing, the decision to leave was by a democratic vote by the majority, something the eu does not allow as they have a system of all or nothing so very little gets done other than swallow large amounts of money from each country every year.

I think leaving will also improve British politics. Often the excuse used was "the eu blocked what we wanted to do as it is all or nothing politics" Our democratic politics away from the eu will mean they will no longer be able to use the eu as the blocker as we will be working from that majority democratic vote principal.

    If I can just add,
Nato will not give a decision unless there is a full consensus
The Un has votes but any founding nation can veto a decision at any time
the eu says all 28 agree or nothing happens
The UK promotes democratic votes and by the majority

Which one represents the people more?

  18. strange thing democracy init? sacrosanct i think you said.
lie through yer teeth to get a particular outcome and it must be honored. hmm.
surprised you mention the most excellent National and wings (again) noob. (just for the record the debate isnt if, its when)
run by a proper investigative jurno noobie. considering the last few entries in particular. forced yet another retraction from near all the Scottish press the other day.
it doesent paint a very good picture of yer beloved press or indeed the uUK govs methodology in collecting, compiling and sharing data with us plebs.as we where pleasantly chatting about earlier.
if yer interested folks particularly the too wee too poor crew. go have a wee look see. it seems we found a Ferrari in the garage under a dust sheet.
if your trusting those feckers to be giving you accurate info, yer too dumb also.
